i found my old dog struggled when i put a filter on. he deffinatly didnt spot the rabbits as well so i chucked it in the hedge before he had chance to get use to it. ive never bothered with one since. Mine got used to it after a few frustrating slips lol it was a pain though with stuff further away trying to take it off mid course.. I can see how people end up loosing them I might drill on hole through the centre of if and give that a bash this season

The dog shouldn't have any problems running with the filter on longer term. If the dog's only run on white light in the past you may notice a slight difference for the first few runs as it gets used to the change in light colour and it may find it harder to spot stuff at first. The light doesn't carry as far with the filter on so if you're lamping stuff that is further away it is more likely to be able to out of the end of the beam

I have had some collars and slip leads off him a few years ago, still as good as new. Especially the slip leads have been used for all sorts and taken some hammer

How Big Will My Lurcher Get
Slippery_Weasel replied to Sarah Bennett's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
Really smooth lads lol, a picture of a real life girl and the thread ends up like an inbetweeners script Very hard to say how tall it's likely to end up as growth spurts can happen at inconsistent times I would guess 25-26" but no one can really say with any certainty -
Mine is good but almost suicidal in the way he runs. he caught a lot of stuff in his first season but hurt himself a lot as well. his 2nd season was pretty much back to back injuries. I am hoping he will have another couple of seasons in him as I really like him but I doubt he will see old age

You very rarely hear many good or bad views on here which is odd considerin everyone seems to have something to say on most of the others The vibe I got from the website is they are trying to cater more for the pet market, for people interested in owning a piece of rural history lol or romanticised by the idea of their 'stealth hunter' roots.

Do Anti Bark Ultrasonic Units Work ??
Slippery_Weasel replied to superfurryanimal's topic in General Talk
I have used one in the past but I honestly can't say how effective they are as mine were howling which doesn't set them off because they rely on vibrations from barking. Mine cost me 15 quid though so it's probably worth giving it a try as it might fix the problem and it's better than reporting the owners etc. You can have the one I have if you're ever passing north Yorkshire -
My misses buggered off and took the kids up to Scotland on Monday for the week. Its been hellish, I dont know how I've manage to cope without them

My grandad took me fishing when I was about 5, remember catching a small brown trout. Been pretty much into catching stuff since then.

Whilst in theory, such legislation would be useful, who creates & enacts it? The government. I don't trust the f*ckers to do it fairly or evenly, or in a way that won't give them the upper hand when they need it. There's legislation already in place to stop phone hacking & bribery, and it's just a case of the law being enforced (as it has in the case of Coulson being sent down). That it happened in the first place isn't because of insufficient legislation, but because the perpetrators ignored the law completely. I was working as a junior producer at the BBC World Service when D

I wouldnt want the media to be controlled by the government in any way, that would make it just as bad as the way in currently is, just with Dave Cameron pulling the strings instead of rupert murdoch. I would just like to see legislation to control stuff like; how they present information, to make sure that they dont deliberately print stuff they know to be untrue, the methods they use to obtain information (phone hacking, bribery etc) , unbiased reporting etc etc. In terms of free speech anyone who currently speaks out about anything the press dont agree with is hounded by them and vili

Couldn't agree more, I had hoped that the levison enquiry would have made a difference but I've not heard anything about it or even if it is still going on
