  1. Will lose the harness soon :-) Much more constructive reply I really appreciate it. Normally in the morning when we are turning all the horses out and whatnot she is in the car, and only comes out when I am mucking out - there is only me there and one other woman, all horses are normally in the field so it's generally quite quiet so she has a sleep in the corner of the stables. I shall see if I can find anyone who has ferrets.
  2. I have a 15 week old bull/saluki/grey lurcher. Obviously I am not thinking of working her yet but I'd like to get some info and do some research before I intend to work her. I currently have a labrador who is being trained as a gun dog, so I am familiar with training a work dog and understand the importance of basic commands. What I'm a bit confused about is: A.) Where can you hunt? Do you need special permission from the land owner, so for example on an estate. Or can you let them do their thing in public woods? B.) What age would you take them out to begin working, would
  3. Bringing home my lurcher pup on Sunday yey! I currently have a lab who I have trained to be a gundog, she has never worked properly before due to not really knowing anyone in the scene and whatnot but I don't mind - she enjoys her lessons monthly and her obedience is brilliant. What do you guys do with your pups? I'd be aiming to teach basics, including heel work on and off lead but that's it while she is young. She is the runt of the litter, so quite small but she's a bloody fiesty one lol.
  4. Oh thank you all so much, yes just picking up a chest freezer at the weekend and would probably buy in bulk as well. I'll have a look in the Lymington Times Hope my dog doesn't try to eat my pet rabbit now lol
  5. This is probably all the wrong etiquette but I wasn't too sure how to go about finding out. Basically, I want to know if it's possible/an option to buy the animals (birds, rabbits etc) people shoot? To feed my dog. She's fed on raw at the moment but I'm wanting to go to whole prey instead, and the nearest place to do it for me charges £20 or something daft for postage. I am based in Southampton, Hampshire, but willing to travel. Any advice greatly appreciated, like I said I'm not sure if this it the 'done' thing so apologies if I offend anyone. Thank you.
