  1. Hi, Any shoots around either Yeoford/Crediton or Kings Nympton areas need any paid beaters if they shoot on Saturdays? Due to school commitment I cannot beat Mondays to Fridays except on school holidays although even then I can't beat on Thursdays. Please message details or dates if you are interested, Thanks
  2. I'm not really familiar with working terriers but why is the red bitch wearing two collars?
  3. If your dogs are prone to chewing lots of things then I'd advise against PVC, there was recently a topic about this and someone having to have the bits of PVC removed from their dog. I tried to quickly find this and post a link but for some reason I couldn't, we just have old duvets for our dogs in their small kennels and they're fine
  4. Is that vinyl covering waterproof?
  5. I skinned it then decided it looked too much like a rat to be appetising so I gave it to the Jack Russell who seemed to enjoy it
  6. I'd ask my local gunshop, any decent gunshop should have a gunsmith they use regularly or even works there
  7. Hi, If anyone is thinking of starting a bait station for the winter squirrels or even now, I've found them to have a real love for plums. There's a plum tree outside my bedroom window and considering we haven't really seen many squirrels about since we shot quite a few at the start of spring there's been a huge amount on the tree, up to 4 at once! I've had 6 in the last 2 days on it, they can't get enough of plums. Just a tip, use plums on your bait station = almost guaranteed luck
  8. I'd advise .410, less pellets in the meat. Also when you're lamping shine the lamp above the rabbit instead of directly at it otherwise it'll be more likely to sprint off. if it isn't too wet wear a pair of trainers rather than boots so you can feel the ground and make less noise, good luck
  9. Keep your eye out for them on the second hand sites, gumtree, freeads ect as I often notice good condition gun cabinets come up but too far from me
  10. I'm familiar with baikals reputation, and I wouldn't really be using it out much except from the odd clay shoot but it'd mostly for practice at home and the maybe some squirrel poking with the syndicate I go to if the opportunity arises.
  11. Hi, I went down to my local dealer yesterday and looking at the cheaper over and unders and noticed a couple good condition 12 bore double trigger non ejectors at around £160, I was wondering if anyone had any experience with fabarm shotguns? There were also some baikal ones too. Thanks
  12. I don't know why badgers are protected? They do just as much damage if not more than foxes
  13. Great write up and description, what calibre rifle did you use?
  14. That's amazing, I love the detail of the resin water
  15. Sportman gun centre sell a lot of deerhunter gear so you might find a review on their website?
  16. How do you get hold of badgers if they're protected?
  17. Have a look on ebay, if you're dead set on these too okay but if not then there's the hocus focus torch which is supposed to be incredible, I ordered one yesterday. Just try them first I think if you want to see them
  18. Haha, so you legally you couldn't even shoot rats with an airgun?
  19. Nice work, do you shoot them with air rifles too?
  20. Cheers, yeah seen them systematically clearing hedgerows of nests in the spring
  21. Heard a load of magpies calling in our field next to the house, went out with air rifle and crawled up to a suitable place and shot one (the bigger one) in the head and the other 3 flew off but the smaller young one didn't, so bagged that soon after with a front on chest shot and they both dropped like stones. Been trying to lessen the numbers recently as the ducks have started to sit on their eggs. Atb Charlie
  22. I'd say they were easy rabbit if not easier to skin as long as you've got a sharp knife, didn't try to eat it as it looks very similar to a rat once you've removed the exterior
  23. I went off for a quick walk about with my air rifle looking for some pigeons, but I came across a pair of grey squirrels in a tree. Shot one in the lungs just shy of the heart, the other one did the sensible thing and ran off up into a tall pine and disappeared. The first one dropped straight out of the tree but as I missed the heart and he still had a tiny bit of life left in him so I shot him in the top of the head just to be sure. Also does anybody know what squirrel tastes like?
