  1. Hi, I used this torch last night as I only got it on the afternoon, I think it is a great little torch and at only £45 off ebay (just under £40 elsewhere) it is a lot of extras just for that money. The torch can focus in and out creating a wide even light, then it can focus in making a tight beam I used mostly for lamping last night. The torch is 115 lumens and as it isn't quite as strong as the dedicated lamping torches it can do the job perfectly for the shorter ranges of using a legal limit air rifle and a shotgun. It can go up to 200 metres on a clear night although I'd keep that at a
  2. There's one. I've met Chris Green before, he brought his 8 bore under lever too
  3. I intended to a month or two ago but once you take off the bushy tail and grey fur the long bony tail and general shape of the squirrel looks like a rat so I gave it to the terrier
  4. Nah but I've got someone who usually gets rabbit off me to feed their dog waiting for me to sell them a couple to see if their dogs like them, if not I will bury them
  5. I reckon it's record numbers of them this year, shot 14 on one single tree over a couple of weeks
  6. Hi, I got the Shooting Times two years for £99 (bargain) subscription in July time this year but I haven't received it although it's supposed to be delivered on Wednesday. I was wondering if it's a wider problem and others haven't received their ST magazine through the post either? Thanks

  8. The occasional ones which are very sparse are protected in the uk and bobwhite aren't in the uk but I know that around Texas part of US they do a lot, the Japanese (cortunix) quail are the common quail
  9. I find smaller local gunshops (like my local one) will buy in a type of cartridge if one of the owner wants to buy some, as long as you're loyal then they try their hardest to get the buyer what they can. But I think otherwise you can get them sent to a your rfd online
  10. He did say you can take out to 70m with a sub 12 ft/lb air rifle
  11. Put out carrots everyday for a week so they get a taste for them and are comfortable with them, then bait the traps with them
  12. The rule of thumb is with steel shot always go down 2 sizes from lead, e.g. If you'd use number 5s then use number 3s ect
  13. It's alright because we've got plum trees on our farm, so it's free and also a decent bait station which comes back every year
  14. If it's illegal to hunt with airguns in France then why did you ask if these two air rifles would be suitable for hunting?
  15. Shooting Times did a good 2 and a half page thing on them this week with Simon Whitehead
  16. Yeah me too, the thud as they hit the ground from a headshot out of a tree is strangely satisfying
  17. Yeah that trigger is very alike in looks to my BSA lightning SE, if you have a sling I expect that'd make it more manageable to be carried around whilst hunting. What small game have you got around you in France and also have you got a FAC?
  18. See how much muzzle energy they have (over 10 fpe for rabbits) using a chronograph then are see how accurate they are, if it's 1" grouping at 30 yards then it's good enough for rabbits and other small game. I really like spring airguns which have a heavy wooden stock because it soaks up the recoil and makes the rifle a lot easier to keep stable when shooting in comparison to lightweight synthetic stocks. The Diana with the thumbhole stock looks really good
  19. Yeah RemyBolt they're on the general licence. And aidy yeah a lot of people use them them post the results on youtube especially in urban areas because they work so well! James Marchington is always using them for most of the uk pest species
  20. You might get a bit more interest or views if you also post this to the shooting and fieldsport opportunities section
  21. How much would you like for the gamekeeper one?
  22. I just made my own, aluminium flooring plate, wire, steel rod and a couple pieces of thick wood are just as good and you can make them different sizes too
  23. Do a seasons beating at a driven shoot and they might let you shoot squirrels, rabbits ect, also try knocking on doors of big preferably arable farms as they have more of a reason for rabbit control than dairy but just knock around and spread the word in your area that you want to go beating and I'm sure a shoot would take you on
  24. I've heard of using the fluid from the head? But I'm not sure what it's supposed to do to the skin I think it softens it but I wouldn't try it without having a look on a couple of websites incase it mucks up the hide
  25. That's a proper setup Blaise, did you get people in to build it or DIY?
