  1. any mating between saluki grey hounds can produce saluki looking pups the three quarters ive bred always produced both smooth and feathered but all looked almost pure regards two crows
  2. southcoast I agree with every thing you said. we know a good dog man can make a pup from anything but you cant beet breeding to lessen the odds of failure the money asked may be to much but the feeling success brings is priceless. however ive seen so called top men pay top money and the dog goes backwards so spending big wont guarantee success. so 100 or a 1000 you pays your money you takes your chance regards two crows.
  3. in about 1970 I had a bedlington whippet cross saluki best day time dog I ever saw.[ and ive seen a lot of the greats] she went to similar dogs and pure whippets some had coat most were smooth but they all could kill hares pups from this bitch went all over the east midlands and had great success. anybody considering something similar could be on to a winner as long as things gell. all the best two crows
  4. yes pluss about 10 miles walking up and down the fen. one time me and a mate spent all afternoon walking one rape field off. regards two crows
  5. whitefeet when I was keepering on a commercial partridge shoot the boss (dead now god rest him) was talking to me at my truck when two crows landed in an oak tree about 100 yds behind him sso I said keep still poked the 17 through the window and shot one of them as he turned the other one fell off its branch as well god knows how but I did two for one and he called me two crows. regards two crows
  6. when you cross a saluki with a greyhound (both gen pure) you get good mix but you don't get feathering or black and tan but all other colours possible. yet cross two first crosses together and black and tan and feathering comes through and litters can contain smooth and feathered pups and all colours. Ime no expert but I have bred first crosses a few times and I always think the purer parent will have most influence( hope this ads to the confusion.)
  7. I don't no what people expect a 10 month dog pup to look like but looks fine to me just take your time let him show you how much work he can handle. 1 run at a time by end of the season you will have seen what he has turned in to. and not spoiled him by to much conditioning and to much stick to soon good luck
