must have decent feet, land looks shocking, but still sham like greys here, I remember running in a double hander in Scotland just before their ban, all the dogs were decent single handed dogs and I don't think one hare got away sadly, and that was stony land.

I have a 10 year old cocker dog here he never stops. finds anything someone shot a fox one day andi did not know and he was trying like f**k to fetch it out the brambles, I would have a lurcher off him in a heartbeat no probs.

you might be right there mate, but me, and a lot of better men than me, would be running em if they was consistently good enough for what we want but they aint, and I love em. give me a muinit blacky been a long day lol

there are one or two real gudens, the rest aren't worth feeding, we have developed our own lines from it,and surpassed it, I had a proper one thirty odd year back and I never saw one better than him and don't think I will tbf.

you had plenty of different types in your time mate, what ones do you think were the most versatile looking back, and if you did it all again what if anything would you do different.

where first crosses of any breed are concerned, these days there realy is no need to bother, I cant think of any advantages they have over a line bred dog, where coursing dogs are concerned the line bred dog has more stamina, due to not having a large greyhound content, and I am sure this is the case with other kinds too, it would be nice to see a universal line bred rabbiting dog but every one likes something different, (and owt can catch a rabbit, lol) so it wont happen, with coursing it was different saluki blood was needed, and we all had to accept the fact like it or not if you wanted a

a hare can cope with a wizzbanger coming upfrom behind he can make him look daft, but it don't like a dog that's getting alongside and watching and in control.

no you don't understand, the dog has tones of pace, but is clever enough to slow down once it gets there, and anticipate what its quarry will do, and catch it.

it to much speed hat makes them overshoot that's why coursing men like a fast dog that runs slow and therefor tight.
