  1. what has to be remembered is that the original dogs going way back were lurchers with saluki added, they were not started with f1 saluki greys.
  2. he was only on the chain when we were there, he had the run of the place at night or when we were out. although he took a dislike to one of my mates cos he was tormenting him and he pulled his 8x6 shed about 10 yards across the yard we had to use rollers to get it back lol.
  3. fair does, what do you have as opposed to straight coursing dogs, mate I still feel its a far better option to put over say an f1 type lurcher to pep it up, than going back to a greyhound.
  4. did you go to the same school as bill hardy lol.
  5. i asked you what you thought the negatives were on the troy thread and got no response I personally don't see any.
  6. the pond above was dug several years ago and has come on rely well, there are newts and frogs and a wide range of beetle and insect life, I had some crucian carp which were breeding rely well but something had the lot without leaving a trace, not one left from a pound or so down to fry all gone.
  7. bee orchid I first noticed this 2 years ago, this summer I found over 30 plants
  8. the last few years I have been trying to create a wild flower meadow and wildlife area behind the house it keeps chucking up new flowers each year.
  9. I cant say we ever weigh him or measure him mate, but he was as big as any I saw very powerfull dog, his registered name was Taurus of galaxy .
  10. gold finch in the apple tree a foot above the washing line.
  11. this is the terrier with beagle in that I had, great little bitch she looks quite big in that pic with the coursing pups, but was only about 12 /13 inches
  12. this is an old pic of a shepherd we had in the eighty's bred from RAF dogs he was a real nice dog but you would not get past him if we were not there.
  13. I don't buy mags any more full of rubbish and lies even the lurcher articles are mostly recycled and re jigged.
  14. is that you mate, here is the first litter I bred 1972 ish I took the photo, and was the same age as the older boy in the pic, the mother killed loads of hares off the land through that fence and no one said a word.
  15. I saw that once in real life but the stoat court it in a wall in the end.
  16. i thought the same boris, but i had a terrier with beagle in it and it was a superb rabbit catcher, and if it missed the big dogs were ready, and it did kill a hare or two beagle style lol, great dog wish i had it now.
  17. talking of bellends howe yer doing
  18. how true that is my dogs are there to find the ones pricked two fields behind the line, we get trialing men sometimes an all they want are the birds laying on the winter wheat in the open, and swap wheat for rape or sugar beat and we still get the call lol.
  19. I held off from replying to this thread cos I knew what was coming my little pal had to be helped over her final hurdle today, so know how you feel all the best phil, her great grandoughter started work this week showing great promise.
  20. not at all an old friend of mine had one years, good old dog he was, but no way as good as a proper fowling dog, I have picked geese with a cocker, but a lab or retriever would be a better choice why handicap ones self for the sake of it.
  21. its bricky not chippy wash yer mouth out, and downsouth I know it does but if you can think of a place where coursing is more rife than my area your a gooden lol.
