  1. I stood on this thrushes stone the other day it was the only stone I could see about.
  2. we see quite a few round and about here, I made a box for a pair of kestrels and the owls visit that sometimes.
  3. good that mate, we have a pair that come to the grass field, I think I will make a box in the back of the barn with access from outside, a mate of mine who rings them recons as long as there hidden they feel safe, and can tolerate quite a bit of activity round and about.
  4. what part of the country is that mate, and is that a road or a railway, nice spot for a fish.
  5. what might that be ? I am amazed that this even got mentioned to be fair, a dog the chap knows is in pain, growling when you try to treat it is normal, as for taking a dogs food away?it was a reflex action nothing more. no need to over react.
  6. look at the hooves on them a mate of my old man had a cross between a staffy and a bull dog lovely dog fit looking and could breath properly to not very big though.
  7. just started taking my currant bitch on the lamp, and she is coming on well watching the beam, catching a few, and coming straight back when lamp off pretty much.
  8. first time he did it I thought he fcked up and not seen it lol.
  9. I know nothing about foxing with dogs, but I do know if I had genuinely top class single handed fox dogs, and got found doubling up I would not go to the trouble of defending my self I just say fcoff. don't need excuses.
  10. I had a pure saluki dog big 27 incher, he always went out of the beam on squatters and came in out of the dark, some nights when he was old he hardly ran at all, and salukis are thick so I am told.
  11. you know what I am on about bill its clever kunts that just want to look big or tough buying these dogs, I know they have a place, but its not in the hands of wankers with their hats on back to front, and if the idiots are not buying them from RESPECTABLE breeders where are they getting them from.i will tell you other idiots, if being used by proper people for a proper job I am all in favour no probs.
  12. I know all that mate, but the fact remains that these types of dogs are often owned by people who are not fit to have them.
  13. how many lurchers have killed people I wonder.
  14. not quite the same, a big difference between a hunting dog, and a dog bred to attack people by some nutter.
  15. no mate but she went to f and produced some top quality thee quarter bred's
  16. he already has the remedy mate just giving a little hope is all.
  17. I kept a bitch pup back that had front legs bowing slightly forwards and slightly splayed feet, it was not noticeable at first, but that bitch was fast aggressive a very good hare killer and lamper never injured and a good long career.
  18. very interesting thread this, but what are ordinary people so scared of that they need a fking time bomb in their lives.
  19. that to me is a good looking dog, but over the years I have seen a lot of very racy looking dogs, a lot finer made than him, witch you would think should lessen the chance of to many cloddy pups.
  20. thought you did your foxing with your great northern lurchers.
  21. a feller asked if id'e sell him my bitch only last year, I said I would sooner sell you one of my kids, the farmers wife thought it was funny.
  22. don't rely think you can say that, because coursing was a casualty of people wanting to ban fox hunting with hounds, I don't however disagree that there is a section of the coursing community we could manage without.
  23. that's true, but if the quarry is being bitten to death over minuets rather than seconds it cant be right can it, hounds with a fox is a bit different as that's over quick.
  24. if it takes more than 1 dog to get something done you shunt be doing it imho.
