I have made no secret of my thoughts if you could possibly work out percentages, these line bred dogs are almost pure saluki, pretty much the only out crosses have only been to pures for years. -

princes dam has a kc number so that can be checked not that it maters rely, our saluki flash went to a pure bitch as well as lurchers, and none of his pure offspring were bred from according to the archives, but I think that is most unlikely, not every thing gets registered, I had a pure in the eightys with no papers real good dog he ran like a lurcher and bred some usefull first crosses, it was about the time frenchy was bragging luke off as the best pure in the country lol, mine was called luke as well and i remember thinking he aint got the best one cos I have, my luke ran nine hares one d -

do I take it from this post your a doubter, lol I am personally sitting on the fence on this subject ,but a keeper I know who is a very good country man and no bull shitter, recons he saw a mountain lion in the Lincolnshire wolds, and I saw something in the half light run across the a 17, a bitt bigger than a house cat a150 yards in front of me, what it was I don't know, I took this cast while building quite a remote farm house in Nottingham shire, I followed the trail to hard ground and lost it, when back tracking, I followed it to a large wheat field and they went up a tram line and away, t

hi I don't sea fish, but am a decent fresh water angler and have often thought about fishing from rocks and banks etc when on holiday, and might be going to see a mate in cornwall this summer are there any legal reasons not to, and can I use my course tackle do you think, cheers.

Price of pheasant poults
two crows replied to shovel leaner's topic in Gamekeeping, Conservation & Shoot Management
i always had my partridges from the same chap for years always good never any probs 10,000 poults a year, i would not of changed that for a quid a bird, new shoot now and they buy their own pheasants so not my problem, still good birds though, if the price don't benefit you leave well alone. -
I bred a litter in 2017 to replace an old retiring bitch, (great grandma to the pups) and the chap with the father also needed one, there were 2 spare pups I asked £650 for them and could of sold a dozen, I now have a great old dog who is 11, so will breed again this year from a different bitch, to cover for him, I always feel guilty asking large sums for spare pups, but if you sell them too cheep someone will take the piss and sell them on again, I have had it happen when trying to help people sadly.

well done hope all your work pays off, I started quite a decent partridge shoot from scratch some years ago that was considered one of the best localy, but sadly the boss died, and that was that, but very satisfying so good luck, i used to shoot on the basin every year, we used to stay at lunan lodge overlooking the bay, I was fortunate enough to get geese every year, one day I had been laying right out on the gravel and got left behind by the lad I was traveling with, and was not missed until breakfast, I had set off to walk back with no gun slip no dog lead and 3 geese, fortunately I was pic

some dogs do just jack there's no doubt about that, a lad that used to run with us had a first cross deerhound greyhound brought up and reared spot on, and she was so capable behind a hare in control all the time, and she killed hares, but she would jack and run back without warning, and do it regular, I don't rate deerhound crosses for coursing I never have, but if that bitch dint jack it was a world beater no kidding, I never saw a so called gooden more capable than her.

most pups that are made to jack, are made to do it by lads who are themselves in experienced, I wont ever do it, but I could easy of done it with my first bitch, she was pushed hard from a young age, and took ages to kill her first hare, but never looked like pulling up, and when she got one, it was one after another for the rest of her life, I honestly don't think you can jack a real good un.
