grews often have good feet, and I quite like the combination of lurcher cross coursing dog, but we must ensure that the parents are rely good enough, and we are not trying to get over faults in the bitch, if you think you need a coursing dog buy one, I am not being negative here but we all rely do need to think properly before breeding.
-
surely the dog running off etc would be down to you, if I had a bitch of that breeding that was good enough to breed from, and the land I ran was not big land, I would use a grew because wind wont be an issue, I would allways ask myself this, does my bitch poses everything I require, if the answer is no don't breed buy in.

john obviously has come to the conclusion that he dose not rely need a lurcher for his type of hunting, and that is up to him, I think these pups will be less scatty than pure collies because of the greyhound blood. it will be most interesting to hear about there progress in a totally honest way, whatever the outcome.

it makes me wonder sometimes, trench.

they are all the same and slightly smaller than a mallard, I don't think they are hybrids because there are several and they look the same, most mallard hybrids are a mish mash.

I don't think brambles was saying it cant be done, more it shouldn't be done from a sporting point of view, far better run properly in the day time, they are a different proposition altogether then, just a point of view nothing to get excited about, I have had loads of dogs that could do that, and on kick ups in the day, but choose not to, these days.

I bet your right, these days lads breed from average bitches through sentimentality hoping the stud will sort faults out it wont. -

yes all good dogs, mick paid the £5 stud fee and took a pup as repayment, he bought another, witch I had back a week or two later, (my dad swap my one for some pigeon eggs) the one I got back was as good a dog as I ever saw she took hares 3's 4's 5's, although back then you know I dint know that was owt special, all that family of dogs did it, mick later found god and became a Christian, a nicer man you would never meet. -

tell you what else we here to much as well, about this dog and that dog, and don't look under our noses, and also pride can stop you using a good dog because of who owns it. (although I am sure that's all ways been the case) o and katchem you can always give me a like later lol. -

go back to the time of them warrener's, and I don't suppose the choice was massive either, it was sheepdog, guard dog, or terrier, not much ornamental stuff, so every thing was working, once you got your first cross you just took your bitch to best dog doing the job local, the result was success, we overthink things now. -
the nuthatch is building you will get more from them in coming weeks

don't forget people did not move about much until very recently rely, so every area had there own type of everything, from canaries to horses, and dogs no different, when I took a bitch about ten miles to be mated, we walked it there and back in the seventy's, the border collie we know today is a modern dog rely. -

my granddad was a driver in the royal horse artillery during the boar war, he had the kings medal with four bars, when he left the army he went to work at whitwell pit, and died of lung disease, and I often wondered why the duke and duches of Portland paid for a London specialist, but they would of owned the pit at the time, I don't know if this was normal, or if he did anything else for them as his knowledge of horses was very good, (in his obituary it says they kindly paid for the specialist) when I was single handed on the partridge shoot I used to get between 6 and 7 grand a year in tips. -

when I was at bircham newton in the seventys we used to get about £4 quid a week spending money so I used to go snairing all round there and get 50 pence for a rabbit and used to do sandringham on occasion with the odd bird with the catty.
