Greyhound bitch free to good home
two crows replied to rabbitman1234567's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
my kids wanted a cat when they were young, I all ways told them it would end in tears, but, i caught a little kitten on a farm I was keepering on, it was a spitting hissing little bastarrd so I took it home, thinking it would put them off, we put it in a dog cage and to be fair to them they tamed him an we had him years, he was a real nice cat just like a wild cat, but a car got him in the end, the dogs seamed to know he was ok and left him alone, the spaniel pup used to wrestle with him. -

Greyhound bitch free to good home

I got one off a mates dad, about 30 years ago and bred a couple of litters from her, she was a nice good natured bitch, she died at 15 kids loved her. -
if you were building a dog for function, that would be a place to start, it grieves me what we have done to some fantastic dogs on the whims of idiots.

the bigger dog could be a droving type cross, I cant tell the sex of it for definite it looks like it has the remnants of milk as the abdomen looks divided up, the terrier to me as been said looks northern, the traveling people of those early years, were fortunate as moving from one place to another working on farms etc gave them the chance to use useful studs from any region along their route, unlike the locals of these areas, where the various types/strains were developing, in isolation, another great old photo hope this runs on a bit.

did you have the other from a pup sandy, and if so how does this one compare, looks ok to me.
-
I don't big my dogs up blacky, any one who matters to me in coursing knows what I have, that will do me, and on the land I run no hares are shot, so good healthy stock mr green I don't wipe anything out even to suggest I would, is disrespectful to a man with a full 50 years experience with proper saluki bred coursing dogs.
-
don't you start again c**t it was just to prove a point now f**k off.
-
I meant the blokes not the dogs lol.
-
just watched that last clip you put up sandy not bad, but them lads is noisy buggers.
-
I just googled define hare coursing, and it says the SPORT of HUNTING hares with dogs using sight.
-
I think if it were still legal here fair law would be given under rules as always, and I am sure there are lads out there that don't bother to much either when not in a comp, this don't bother me, its the constant snipeing at coursing lads by certain individuals, tarring every one with the same brush I am and always have been the most sporting of men, in every thing I do, even if I have never in your eyes coursed a hare.
-
the object of every fieldsport bar course fishing is to catch and kill something, or shoot and kill something, yet for a hares somehow its different, and you a cnut if you want to catch it.
-
why is that right, and I am wrong for hunting an animal on its own ground with one dog, why am I not a sportsman for that.
-
there are plenty on here not interested in sport, the argentina thread is very sport orientated, but to be fair people keep having a dig at single handed coursing, but if carried out as it should be it is the most pure of sports, the only true test of a coursing dogs skill is to be able to catch its hare on its own, now don't compare that, with idiots slipping doubled up or running kickups in ploughs or snow or driving land and chucking dogs out the window, and a lack of respect for prey does not extend to the humble rabbit when bolted to dogs, no start there, or catching squatters whilst blin

funnily enough I once had a chap slip a fast type lurcher in by accident, on a three quarter saluki bitch I was running, and it kept getting in the way, every time the hare turned my bitch had to jump over his to get back in, after a minuet or two she got control and ended things, but he could not understand what was going on at all.
-
lol don't get me started on that f***ing lot, ells ile never stop, before the ban a large farm we used to run on also entertained the local hunt, and the farmer said your the only ones that give me anything them c**ts wont even speak when they ride through my yard, but they still let them go lol.
-
if the last few posts are aimed at what I said, you can f**k off, I did not like what was posted and I said so, and let it rest at that, I don't know the chap, but every time any one tries to engage about similarities between dogs from different continents, he pulls the you don't have the doggo line in stead of being respectful and chatting about said similarities, it looks like it has to be all him.
-
any one can take this how they like, but I think any one who gets a kick from that is ill, I know wolves do it in nature, and I don't want to get in an argument with any one, where ever there from, but to me that's not right.
-
you wont get it on the smaller game here (fox) or deer its a big deal to only run one dog at a time.
-
these boys don't seem to bother about single handed do they, if they need half a dozen dogs to get the job done slip the lot.
-
why on earth not, lol
