  1. a couple of pics I found in my shed from a few years back, I thought some might like to see, some of the lads are sadly gone, good craic back then.
  2. we went to sandringham on sunday £30 to get in £13 for two pork rolls £7.50 for a pint and half of cider, loads of pretend country men and plastic lurchers, don't know why I bother.
  3. I cant either always made the wrong decision the dog laid down flat looks like a bull cross to me lol
  4. wasent his stud dog called gisburn
  5. as I have said before there is a reason why certain crosses become rare.
  6. there absolute corkers mate well done, and lads moan about paying a few quid ffs.
  7. if we stopped using the woolly's lol these dogs would breed true to type in a generation or three.
  8. no mate I would not, I remember them in the seventy's, they were no good then, yes you will get a good one here and there bound to, but to me a far better option is a lurcher x lurcher that's deerhound based, a far better animal, imho
  9. a mate of mine had one bred exactly as you said tomo was very fast but that was about it, another mate had first cross that looked like it was going to outclass every hare it ran but about a minuet in it would peel off and run back, not my cup of tea at all.
  10. golf course was great and land up to it and follow railway right to the A1
  11. bothamsal back to the a1 and the a1 side of barnby moor were good as well years ago plenty of rabbits.
  12. your right its the buyers that keep them places open, easy to get what you want, and for agility, fly ball etc they be queing up I bet.
  13. that wasent directed at you just a general observation good luck with the pup, some good lamping round retford, we used to go from grove rd signal box all along the railway round the woods near upton, and from the golf course right to the A1.
  14. I have always loved day time dogs, but lamping is bloody exciting, one of my little coursing bitches got the habit of standing by the hedge if the rabbit got in and listening then striking, she caught no end like that.
  15. I never had anything to do wit hancock or his dogs, but don't like puppy farms so guess im'e anty, but does anyone know how many pups were bred, what percentage whent to working/hunting homes, and what was the success rate, I know we will never know the answers, but be interesting all the same.
  16. some years ago a mate who had a real good lamping dog, said to me gyp catches lots of hares I recon he could do it in the day, I said bring him, and at the first hedge gyp stopped and came trotting back, he thought that was it like at night, now I would not start a daytime coursing dog on the lamp until it mastered coursing, so why let an all rounder hunt up as a pup in the day, and then take it lamping and moan when it hunts up.
  17. don't overthink things you will go mad, just go and lamp him let him fk up, the penny will drop and you be fine.
  18. I am not going to get into what we were or were not doing, or who did the most, but unless your a cattle rustler we prob did a few of the same, but we never drove on no fields however hard it was.
  19. when I was a poacher we used to park and walk what ever we went for and relay to a suitable spot for pick up later no need lye about stuff done right, only a twat drives allover some ones work.
  20. ive had some very good dogs that another would of got rid of by 13/14 months old, but by polishing a bit longer they get there. its about knowing, and allot think they know.
