  2. I don't class stuff from eu as imprted, only coo stuff and even they import stock from here.
  3. flashes father springbarn sandpiper, went to 10 known bitches and sired 70 offspring, so something's going to fit somwhare, he was born in 1957.
  4. just use the big bales of shavings the horse folk use about6 or seven quid lasts ages instead of paper.
  5. I use them in my runs just sweep up dead easy.
  6. that's my wifes uncle in the pic he is seventy four now and loves to talk dogs, the old dog was killed in1971 ish he ran down the street and as he turned to go in the gate he hit the post and broke his neck poor old lad, he left some good dogs though.

  8. true, my first bitch was born in 1969 and was sired by a pure called caleb of xeros, his parents were springbarn sandpiper and Anastasia of daxlore, I can trace this line back to 1890s and the saluki stuff in the merlin eve lines are all related to these dogs one way or another , caleb went to one or two greyhounds in the sixties along with several lurchers and one pure kamasi semeramis a uk bred bitch, bred from imported stock from IRAK, flash (caleb of xeros) was born in 1961
  9. when I was a kid in the 70s I had saluki bred lurchers good hare killers, and I bred from them, and some were sold to other parts of the country, and others did the same up and down using good dogs from other areas, and as a result of sensible breeding and buying pups from other lads, we have the coursing dogs of today, if lads was frit of being called peddlers we would still be messing about with all sorts of rubbish, if good beddys are that rare rescue them, be remembered for doing something positive, ok surplus pups get sold on but that's not peddling. not aimed at anybody just an observati
  10. sometimes a type/strain of livestock needs a peddler to bring it back from the brink, as long as they are sound and from workers, and prices are fair, to me there is no problem.
  11. 2/8 and 6/8 suggests divvy to me, like telling about the greyhound and not what parents can do, price well enough said.
  12. as miss lurcher said jacko kieth always said he was English coss Berwick is in England these days
  13. if your bitch suits you as she is why not go lurcher x lurcher, if you go to a grey or whip whats your next move looking forward from that
  14. I don't rely think it maters, all game can be caught easily on some ground and be imposable on different ground, just to me up there they were easy so I only caught 1 or2 and then just walked my dogs the rest of the day, be good for pups, but not for proper dogs, jmho.
  15. a couple more, the keepers, and the judges (a motley crew)
  16. he was about 10 then and killed a few whites the next day,
  17. fens do you recognise the old dog next to your mate.
  18. there were 4 men in each team every body ran every body so each dog had four courses and I honestly cant remember one getting away, all the dogs were decent single handed dogs, I don't care for double running but a great time was had with some good lads, me and steve Roberts were up for dog of the day but he got it.
  19. that chap was called denis I am sure, but he did not win that day it was a team event and England won, my bitch won all her courses but drew with that bitch.
  20. yes I was in it that year it was at Cawdor castle it was the last one before the scotish ban.
  21. I found them easy, what northernlight says is true, but a good single handed coursing dog should have no probs , I kept my dogs up after two or three to be honest.
  22. England against Scotland on the browns, and whites the next day for a bit of different sport not my bag though to easy.
