Should have said I enclosed insurance, BASC membership etc and used the excellent forms provided on this forum by Davyt63. It wasn't just a casual enquiry - I really tried!!

Some local allotment holders contacted me about their pigeon problem. In turn I approached the council who control the land, quoting the gardeners, and offering the usual free service. Unsurprisingly they refused saying they were constrained by Health & Safety and insurance issues and could only employ professional pest controllers but with cutbacks they couldn't afford them. Seems a bit daft when they could have a free service anyway. Has anybody come across this when dealing with council offices and how did you get on ?

This perm is a Council site so I wanted to get things right! Called in to the nick en-route and was given a number but they weren't too excited, even less when I went back to cancel on return. The general opinion seems divided whether to bother or not and the cops don't seem bothered either - until someone complains - so I think I'd better go along with it if only to keep the Council happy. Anyway thanks to all for the info and stay behind the pointy end.

About to finalize a new permission so visited the local nick to check on procedures for issuing log numbers for the coming activity (and to avoid a visit from the Firearms Unit). They appeared not to know what I was talking about but were interested when I mentioned a silenced air rifle, but no help. Any advice out there about this subject would be most welcome.

Airarms Magazine
Gerry Attric replied to Gerry Attric's topic in Rifle Reviews, Technical Help and Tips
Rez S410 10 shot magazine is £32.50 at my local RFD and mag O-rings are 68p each !! so I invested in some O-rings. I'm Scottish by the way ! -
My S410 wasn't happy about going to work - the magazine just refused and wouldn't load. A good squint revealed the snapped O-ring. Amazingly my local RFD had them in stock so the mourning period was short. A tragic end for someone so young nevertheless. This mag had about 400 pellets through it - 40 fills - and was fairly new. Was this young O-ring taken from us prematurely or is this a normal life span? Any comments and/or commiserations welcome.
