  1. I didn't see owt either mate! Let down again. Like getting a false promise off our Doris!
  2. You've been bitten by the bug big time haven't you mate!! Lol..
  3. Just passing it on folks.. If you see fak all.. don't hold me accountable!!
  4. Good move that mate. You can ask him how he goes about his processing and that. I'm sure you could learn a lot from him. Once you've mastered it.. you can start putting images on Alamy and the like to make a few quid! Lol.. my brother has sold loads over the years. I don't think it really pays a deal though to be honest. Most of his stuff is landscape pics from around Sherwood forest when he's been out dog walking. I know the Mail and Express and used his pics for their online sites before. Another one was a water droplet underneath a leaf with the forest reflecting upside-down in it. That was
  5. Belter that! Drop him line.. lol..
  6. It probably is.. sell it now!! Lol.. Have you given it any low light tests yet? It's going to be loads better than any camera phone.. you've just got to push it's limits a bit to see the benefits and what's it's capable of. My brother is really into photography and he shot a couple of weddings for mates with a your camera or an earlier modle and the images he got where unbelievable! He's had just about every camera ever made! Lol.. You've got to know how to push things to the max and obviously he's mastered the editing side of things a long time ago. He knows what he's doing. But even the
  7. It's a big negative to getting into photography.. especially if you're not particularly minded that way.. like me! They must be some user friendly software out these days for such things. I was using the old Lightroom software and literally processing one image at a time. Painful when you've been machine gunning flying ducks all morning at 7 fps as it was back then. All my stuff is fortunately stored on a hard drive buried away somewhere. Be nice to dig it out and see what's on there. Just have the odd few on phone from back then at the moment. She's my eldest and is 19 now!
  8. I did sell it on mate after a few years. Just used it less and less over time. Shame really. Some fella brought it off me to do photography at rugby games. To be honest mate, I loved getting out with the gear and taking pics.. wildlife, dogs, kids, whippet racing whatever it was, but I absolutely hated, and was useless at managing the files on the laptop, as in processing the RAW files, and just generally managing, organising and storing them. It was a monumental ballache. Probably what actually put me off in the end!
  9. Ahh.. yes, that's right mate! A cropped sensor!! I've forgotten most of what I learned from back then. Does make a relevant difference. I tried some cheaper 3rd party lenses, a few of the Sigma ones, and from what I can remember they weren't great at all to be honest. No beating the proper Canon L lenses. Not sure about things now though as I'm out of the scene!
  10. Some dollars that is but I'm sure top notch glass like that will hold it's value pretty well so up you bail out down the line, all is not lost. 800 mm is ridiculous.. what are you planning on sniping with that? Lol.. I think my old 7d wasn't a full size sensor so somehow it resulted in me getting more than 200mm zoom, but not much mind. I could crop images quite heavily too due to the crazy big image resolution. But yes, bigger is always better as they say!
  11. Nice one mate. Looking forward to seeing how you get on with it. Start working early on the Mrs then.. they usually come around eventually!!
  12. Does your new camera have a fairly compact body compared to the old slr's mate? I dabbled into the camera world about 15 years ago. Brought a new Canno 7d and 70-200 2.8 lens to bolt on it. About 2.5 k's worth. I justified it to my Mrs saying it would be ideal for the kids sports days and that, which it was, but the real purpose was for some canine galloping action!! Lol.. Be handy that mate with having the young family. It's can be challenging getting your head around it at the beginning though. I struggled. I am a bit of a thick f****r mind!! Lol..
  13. Really interesting that. I have found a rumin bag before at the side of a path in a heavily wooded area that is full of Roe. Nothing else to be seen anywhere. Probably was 2 years ago. And funnily enough, my old man stumbled across exactly the same thing just last week he was telling me. Same habitat but 4 miles away. I wish he'd have taken a pic now. Obviously I'm not saying these are cat related.. but it's still a very strange find. I just put it down to dog lads without giving it second thought. If there are any lads still at it around here that is. Maybe it's time to deploy my trail cam!!
  14. f**k!! I knew you'd pull me on that!!
  15. @big feet Just found this on Frickly tip.. it wasn't there yesterday! Lol..
  16. I haven't personally used them, I don't feel a need for them at the moment, but I know people that do use them and they swear by them! I've slipped and gone down backwards in the blink of an eye onto my rucksack a few times, dinting my flask once, and I'm pretty sure the poles would have saved my ass there and prevented that from happening!
  17. Seen a vid of four pigs make short work of a chargrilled corpse in the Ukraine recently. I reckon they'd have done it in one sitting! Lol..
  18. Yes.. I'm not bothered about tacking that at all mate to be honest! Being on an exposed ridge like that is not great for my head! Lol.. Yes, the instagrammers, facebookers and self promotors are out in force big time now mate.
  19. I think there's already something in place for that in the Lakes mate..
  20. Sound advice that mate.. but I doubt I'll ever do it! Striding edge on my own was bad enough and Crib Goch is definitely a league above that! I am one for going early mind. I did the Whatkin path as a day tip. Up at 2:00 am.. picked my work mate up and driving for 2:30.. parked up at the beginning of the Whatkin path at 6:00 am as it was just getting light. Up down and back at home 155 miles away by 5:30 teatime. Job done. I was a bit knackered mind!! Lol.. Half way up.. 5 th march '22 it was. We were some of the first to the top that morning but the numbers soon started buildi
  21. Discusting mate! Look at that lovely church in the background there. Reminds me of the one at Laughton. Such a shame they don't build those anymore..
  22. Ah.. yes mate, keep the females happy eh! I'd like to tackle the Crib Goch route, it's an exposed ridge. One slip on there and you're a gonner! I don't like admitting it.. but I'm pretty sure my arse would fall out so far across the ridge and I'd probably end up crag fast and have to face the humiliation of the Mountain rescue coming up to save me! Lol.. f**k that!! I've got my limits and I know them!! Lol..
  23. Yes, that makes sense mate. Got over the winter to plan it out and I reckon we usually our best weather late spring. Keep us posted anyroad.
