She's coming down end of October and wants me to take her for a refresher walk over Kinder as she has her Mountain leaders qualification course coming up soon and the first half is based in the Peaks so I'll look forward to that!
  7. I've only heard good things about the PHD gear Leo. My sister picked up one of their bags only used once and got a mega deal on it she was saying. Only downside was it didn't have a zip on it!! Lol!! She was aware if that by the way. I can't actually remember what she was quoted for having a zip fitted but it kind of ruined the deal!! Oh well!! Lol.. I'll have a good poke about on their site later. I don't need owt as such bit always good to have a gander eh!! PHD | Sleeping Bags and Mountaineering Clothing | Made in England WWW.PHDESIGNS.CO.UK

  15. That's exactly what I thought mate! I did say that to the lad at work that went there last year.. he said there's acces right along there as it's on the Hadrians wall route. He was bloody gutted when I told him some f@@ker had felled it! I was wondering if that tree had been planted there hundreds of years ago by someone who had the foresight of knowing how grand it would look there when mature but also knowing they'd never get the pleasure of seeing the finished article. Who knows!
  16. Some cnuts cut it down! Famous Hadrian's Wall gap tree 'felled overnight' - BBC News WWW.BBC.CO.UK The Northumbria police commissioner said she was "incandescent" that it looked... I didn't know anything about the tree until a lad at work mentioned it just a few weeks back. Bit of a landmark apparently and popular with photographs. I'd said I'd get over and see it at some point. Not happening now is it. Any ideas.. who and why??

  19. No worries mate.. always good for a bit of big cat chit-chat here.! Yes, I did listen to that episode with the journalist from Derbyshire on. It's nice hearing places mentioned on there that I'm familiar with. I know Carsington fairly well and last time I was here I cycled around as part of a bigger ride. It's cracking countryside with loads of cover but I must say I'd never heard of the 'beast of Carsington' until now. I remember visiting Riber Castle too, must be over 20 years ago, when they had the Lynx there. Sorry GM.. it's a while since I listened to that episode. The film you ment
