Back out on Kinder scout again last night. Had company this time and it was first time out for a lad that I work with. It's an absolute killer of a walk up from Edale upto Grindslow Knoll.. especially with big pack on!! Really steep going up but once your on top it stays pretty flat. Good night. No drama's. Didn't really take any pics either! The elevation graph! My heart rate went bezerkers going up!! It's a good little work out though to be truthful and feels like you've earned your snap and a can or three once your set up. Hitting the lake district h -
Sorry to hear that mate, such a shame to lose loved ones like that. Like Wilf said.. smoking was no big deal back then. My mum smoked despite numerous attempts to pack it in. It wasn't that that took her at 66 though. That's another topic. I remember being a young kid and I overheard my dad saying my mum "Ann.. I wish you'd stop smoking" and her reply was "Trev.. I wish you'd stop f@@king breathing"!! Lol.. she was a firy little thing!! Crazy how things stick in your mind. That was probably about 35 year ago!!

My old man threatened me when I was about 10 Yr old. I still remember it now.. we were in the car chatting about adult stuff and he said " I don't mind to fighting and drinking, but don't ever, ever let me catch you smoking!" and I've never touched one to this day! Only decent bit of advice he ever gave me!! Lol..

Tent wise mate it might pay you to go to a Go Outdoors shop. The bigger ones will have loads of tents set up in store so you can see what you're actually buying. I would go Air beam tent now if I was after a big one again as it was divorce shit putting up my old 8 man Outwell Montana with a bloody head strong Mrs!! If you're after something smaller and cheaper a flexi poled 4/5 manner will be fine and still easy to pitch. Try to get to a shop mate and pick their brains!! Can't beat camping with the little uns mate!!

I'm not ruling Usyk out of this at all like you say. Be great to see him lay fury out just for the upset but that's not going to happen. I can't see Usyk going the distance with fury leaning allover him for 12 rounds either although that's probably his game plan and he'll use his speed to to stay out of trouble. I'm going for a Fury win.. K.O.. round 7/8.

My Mrs's record is 7 slices of bread with a pot noodle mate! We were only 21 years old and camping in Scotland. Probably explains why she isn't a size 10 anymore!!

I've got absolutely no excuses for people not getting 'that' pic other than what mentioned. I'd certainly like to as it would be a nice little earner from the media I'm sure.. and who'd turn down a nice little easy wedge for the sake of taking a pic! I get on with everyone mate on here I'd like to like so and yes, Greyman is a sound bloke but like TOMO says I don't know him personally and we've never swapped pm's or anything. I'm straight down the middle mate and say things how see it and take people as I find them!

I don't think it's a natural primative reaction to whip your phone out if you where to have an unexpected big cat encounter in our countryside today. More likely your arse would fall out. I was out on a walk in the rain yesterday evening and spotted a hare sat layed tight not 10 feet from me. By the time I'd fumbled getting my phone out with wet hands.. turned my camera back around facing the right way, the hare had got up.. put the middle finger upto me and skedaddled off into the woods! B@stard!! Lol..

I'm itching to know where abouts in the Lakes this happened. My sister has literally jumped sent me a link to an article about it and she's crapping herself because she's out in the Lakes for a bivy camp on Saturday lol.. obviously I know the location will be kept quiet for now. Great result on the positive test though!

I thought it was there mate. Cracking spot it is. Been up on the gondolas a few times over the years but never with a bike. It's a great way for people less able to experience mountain top views. Watched a fair few coming down the trail on their MTB's as the trail winds and twists under the route the gondolas uses. Remember seeing one young girl really ripping it up and doing some massive jumps! She had way more balls than me! Sounds a cracking trip your son is having mate.. hope the weather stays nice for them! Couple of pics of my girls from over the years up near the cafe where the do
