  1. Must be over 20 years since I hunted there and some of the clubs were so short of hares they were restocking - foxes were turning up with all the new forestry and the ground was sick with too many sheep. I was told of 5 foxes lamped in one night even back then and thought there was scope for a fox pack , maybe on a Saturday so as not to clash. Good to hear that the clubs are going well now. I I was through one summer maybe ten years ago and my contacts in Cahirciveen were gone.
  2. Hope they have sense enough to keep the trail hound blood out of the harriers - it never worked with Fellhounds in the long run. Thing was, some Fell Huntsmen kept trailhounds and kept trying it and ended up with rubbish.
  3. Many thanks, thefootman. The Irish Foot Harrier Association should have a list, as the Clubs were members for the insurance - but there are no details online. The Kerry Beagle site is interesting and I wonder if a split is happening between trail and hunting hounds (as happened in N. England long since}
  4. Many years ago I hunted a bit with the Kerry beagle clubs in the Cahirciveen/Waterville area. I think there was 7 clubs- all hare. Are there any clubs hunting fox now? I think the nearest was about Castleisland? I heard the Waterville Beagles were flushing foxes - are they still going? I hope to get back there in the near future.
