    I had the opportunity to gte one some years back - and turned it down ..the guy could not live with the heavy hardware. I rarely see these for sale - and maybe a future classic .

    A piece of plastic rod or you can now buy pre made pellet setters ..the lat thing you want is to damage the steel ....although personally I have never bothered ....on a springer the air will seat the pellet properly and drive the skirt out . You can argue this and that but for generations of UK airgunners its just been the use of a thumb thats all .

    Try seeding an area during daylight , something smelly will help draw them in - anything cos rats an't fussy ! Draw a line with whatever you are using towards your main sitting position - at fixed yardages - 15m/20/25 + and do this again and again so you have multiple bait trails all leading to your firing postion to be used later .

    Can't get better than a Falcon or earlier Titan ...some do make a clatter internally when fired . Something to do with air under compression - I read somewhere that the best trick is to get a used plastic shotgun wad drilled out , and use this internally - its on that Falcon forum somewhere I think .

    I had a HW once - super looking thing in walnut but was very low power ...the spring was 'right' and full length ....but only gave 5ft/lbs . I toyed with all manner of theories , but in this case , I think nlyon may not be sufficient . If you are replaacing spring length by this much I am guessing asI have never tried this [ but have pondered the same myslef ] , possibly a soild bar of ally or brass with a nlyon finish may be better when compressed ?

    I have chopped rings off and then ground flat on a wheel ...spending time here is worthwhile . Polishing is also nice to get a finished result .....but the the best result is to heat the end and get it completely flat again . I have never bothered mind . You will as more learned metalurgists here relate , run into weakening the spring . I have always wondered about snapped springs . I remember seeing one of the big Tuners show in an Airgun World article how he did this - and he did reheat the spring , ...also mentioned 'linishing ' which I forget what was involved - it seemed to be to

    The noise from my springers always seemed loud - until I asked a mate to shoot it - with me ahead ( and safely to one side ) . I was suprised ! Only the briefest "Phut ....." That was a .22 BSA springer near enough to full power with lightweight pellet . Compressed air and Co2 will sound louder as the gases are expanding as they are expelled . But like as like I thought it nice to try and get one made as per this thread . Very good effort and worth fettling some if you have skill or know someone who can so this for you .     Hello , am just on here . Airguns is my thing . Have tried shotties and suchlike but always find Airguns do it for me now . Hope to get about here today - airgunning and Sundays ...can't ask for more .....[ must remember to get out later and buy some chocs and a card for Mum ......I forgot its M.....! ]
