...I've joined this forum because last week we lost our beloved Deerhound at only 4 years old. She had peritonitis following a ruptured ulcer. It was all very sudden and completely unexpected - she had been tearing round our land only the day before. I'm desperate to replace her but this incident has knocked my confidence in the breed. When we were at The Scottish Game Fair at Scone last year, we met a couple who had a beautiful Bedlington/Deerhound cross Lurcher. She was the image of my Deerhound but half the size!
