    Its the same with when i train sheepdogs for people its the owner who needs training most of the time or they dont work the dog enough to keep it quiet instead they let them out once a month and wonder why the dogs a lunatic as soon as it see's the sheep there that desprate to do something.

    Bird when you kept mastiffs did you feed a lot of veg to your dogs when they were pups? Before my mam got hers she read somewere that they need a fair bit of veg to build them up along with plenty meat of course. And it loves veg you could put a bowl full of veg infront of it and will eat the lot if i put that infront of my dogs they wouldnt give it a second look.

    I saw a few boerboels when i was in south africa not the sort of dog to be messed with. Keep diggin how long since you were in SA? when i first whent they all had docked tails but the next time i seen a lot with long tales and i was told they had banned tail docking dogs.

    She does spoil her dare until a couple of week ago when it broke she had a 2" gem encrusted pink collar on lol. She has had her for a while now the dog was a year old when she got her and i think shes 4 or 5 now. Shes a laid back dog but is very weary of strangers coming to my mums house she always has to check them over before they come in. But thats sort of why my mum wanted a big dog as shes getting on a bit now and lives by herself so she worrys a bit. So if someone was to break into the house the dog might deter them.

    Cheers lads shes my mams pride and joy i dont know how she keeps it fit its the laziest thing i opened the front door this morning and it took one look at the rain and fecked of back to bed lol. She has got a fairley big underbite is that common in most mastiffs? Im intrested to see what bird has to say ive heard him mention them a few times in posts. Have you had much to do with them gaz?

    So ive been lumbered with this big mutt for a few days from my mother while shes away. She tells me shes a full mastiff but im not 100% it is she got her from a rescue so breeding is unknown. I know it doesnt matter what it is but im just curious what you lads think. She stands at about 24tts.

    Fair enough. There a great thing for us farmers round here its near impossible to get planning to build a shed so these are the next best thing a farmer i know has two that he can get 300 sheep in each.

    Ive had the same thing with my two there both hob brothers and one was massive compared to the other because he was getting the kings share of the food so i just seperate them for a few hours to feed and they have evened out now.

    i would try to deal with it your self mate ive tried to use the police in this situation before and i found them to be anything but helpfull best to try and ask around locals if they recognise a discription of the woman and find out were she lives and go from there sorry to hear about your sheep its sickening when it happens.

    Where are you thinking of going neems? Im not going alone the missus sometimes comes with me or a mate who i do a lot of backpacking and camping with. I know things can turn bad fast i broke my tail bone out on the fell a few years ago it made me bed bound and out of work for a few weeks but the worst bit was the walk/hobble back to the car then drive a couple miles on a rough dirt track till i got on the main roads.

    Wild camping and motorhome camping is 2 different things mate im talking about backpacking and camping up on the fells.
