  1. Being left for dead, and getting shot, sounds like the sort of things you hear about people doing to eachother in the streets, glad I'm away over the windy land out the way of all the misery What is the windy land LPD? You mention it a bit and ive no idea where your talking about.

    Why

I think theres a term for it now called metrosexual lol for lads that are straight but enjoy things that woman do like getting nails done and mani petis or whatever there called. Its all strange to me lol.
  3. Its not something to really brag about mate. Stay away from sheep at this time of year there either in lamb or have lambs with them.
  4. I soon learned how dangerous places like Helvellyn can be, went up one burning hot summers day, then the freezing fog came out of nowhere when we were on the summit, think that was in July, must be a savage place to be on a harsh winters day There not as bad as people make them out to be. I live in these hills and spend most my time up the fells and have never come into any trouble apart from falling in a river and breaking my tail bone once but even then i manged to walk 4 mile back to the van. It did take me a few hours to do it though and a few funny looks from walkers as i hobbled pas
  5. Im not a pro but the fella who taught me gave me a split 2" ring to start the net on. Then when i get to the end i cut the string from the needle leaving about 8"inch left loose on the net then hand stitch on to the 1" ring and then take the 2" split ring off the other end and then hand stitch the other 1" ring on. Others may have better ways but this is the way ive learnt how to do it.
  6. Blea tarns not a bad walk out and it holds a few brown trout.
  7. Carefull you'll get the thread deleted again lol.
  8. Do you work your pure kelpie with sheep DC?My shepherd works a pure kelpie on sheep. Very very keen dog. Endless energy and very flashy. She will gather out the field and works the pens well, backing and using her voice. This is a training video. There is f**k all chance of getting a lurcher litter from this bitch though! Lol. He also has cattle dogs, but they are used only for driving. Is that his dog in the video? You can never tire them kelpies out they just keep going. Ours dont stop barking witch is what we want especially when gathering rough ground with a lot of b
  9. Would you take a plummer and a bag of dog feed? But only if she takes all game single handed. Pre ban of course lol.
  10. Wouldnt it be illiegal to relocate it as there a pest?
  11. Nice mutts them D.C. He will hear a rustle from 5 mile away with them ears.
  12. You should start up another thread im intrested in what you have to say and what you think a true cur is ? Dont want to change the topic after 450 pages of minshaw debate.
  13. building a smoker for the fishing forays mate should be a good summer! You'll be able to smoke it as soon as you manage to catch one. How do you safetly get the cans open? I have an old calor gas can in my barn. I might give one ago if i dont blow myself up trying.
  14. Nice one ant. Is one of them going on the boat lol?

  16. Its probally because most fell curs rarelly leave the farm because thats the only place the farmer needs them. My sheepdogs are pretty laid back and are not bothered about other dogs because i work on a lot of different farms so they get about a lot. Yet my fathers dogs never leave the farm as he just works at home and his dogs, to be honest are anti social t***s and dont take kindly to new dogs on there turf. I think it boils down to not being socialised enough when there pups. Ive told him this but we all know how these old timers are set in there ways.
  17. Comparing a fell cur to a collie is like comparing a saluki to a greyhound. Basically the same dog to most people but they are totally different types of dog more in the way they work and move than looks.
  18. My fathers got one, he loves his beardie sheepdogs. There not as stylish work wise as a normal collie but there what he likes. He use to have a few but we struggled to find decent working studs for them because he only keeps bitches so they ended up being bred out to fell curs. This is a bitch i managed to find him a few years ago. Shes shapeing up to be a decent dog. Loving the pics darbo good stuff ?
  19. It cracks me up dogs that do that. A guy i used to work for had a black lab, soft and playfull sort of a dog but he would show his hole set of teeth and people would crap themselves when he came up to them. My sisters chihuahua does it as well but its slightly less intimidating.
  20. Only the serious cragg rats will venture up the over sized mole hill that is latrigg lol.Haha, now that made me laugh ? ... still the views from Latrigg are pretty much to die for for many as was the view not long after 1st light yesterday morning up in the Grampian's looking towards Ben Lawer with the cloud below us ? When your stood down in keswick latrigg looks as if its big but once you get up skiddaw it does look slightly pathetic in comparison. I try to avoid latrigg theres been a couple of occasions when i have witnessed the plauges of chinese fleeing as i come over a hill

  22. A fella i know makes a lot of homebrew and he often makes a batch of nettle wine ive never tried it but he rates it highly. He comes down to a rough feild i have that i cant weed wipe and takes most of them he's happy and it saves me a job cutting them. I think most farmers would be pleased if you wanted to go and harvest some.
  23. Download photobucket app then upload your pics onto it then select a pic and press copy image and just paste it onto here. Its easy to do even for the technology challenged like myself ?
  24. Is that the one with the hound hard after a fox in a cragg on the front cover?
  25. Loved beano and dandys. I was a big fan of "oor wullie" as well.
