  4. I decided to take my young whippet out for a few hours so loaded up and headed out, it wasnt ideal conditions but youve got to be in it to win it. We arrived at the perm, checked the first field, theres a fair few sat out nicely in the middle so jump the fence and get started. First slips a squatter, off he goes down the beam and picks it up without a fuss and retrieves it nicely not to hand but good enough for me. The next 3 werent as easily gained but after a few turns they were in the bag. Pleased with how patch is doing, hes really matured these past few outings, we head to the next f
  5. Glad I'm not the only one ? I don't use mine for hunting but like most dogs if they see a small furry, there going after it. Bobs caught a couple bunnies in his years, and I'm still trying to retrieve them.

  7. IMO yes without a doubt, at least mine are like that. I think the kelpie gene must be strong, at least in the way my litter had thrown, they are a lot smaller than what I expected to be and have a very kelpieish look about them, along with the mentality.
  8. Don't get me wrong Neal, they have there uses, and are tough as nails and will work all day and do they same the next but they aren't suited to part time work and need to be doing something constantly or they will find something to do. The couple I have are extremely independent and I'm basically the courier to and frow there destinations lol even the 1/4 kelpie 3/4 curs I've bred still have a lot of the same traits as in the pures. I do like them, one of mine is free range 365 days a year and is never in a kennel is great as a yard dog and working in the sheep pens but when I want to do
  9. I don't have to read that to tell you that kelpies are tw@ts, if you want an easy life don't get one ?

  13. How dare you! The Nissan has coil springs. It didn't break down... It just wouldnt start lol.
  14. ive been heating it up to critical temp, so it's non magnetic and then quenching in oil, and then once fully cool and polished back up I've been tempering it to a straw colour with the blow torch. It may not be the best way to do it but it seems to work well on the steel I'm using. Trial and error, I've got a set of leaf springs if you run out of things to hammer ?
  15. I've had them before, there as good as a chicken egg but a slightly different taste.
  16. Remember to save an extra 30k to get it converted to right hand drive.
  17. My father keeps beardies for working, there not my cup of tea but he likes them. It is very hard to find the real ones, a lot of people keep them as pets now.
