    Wheaton

must been a shit pit .... Not taking nothing away from the Wheaton but a proper match bred pit should still do the deed in the box over a Wheaton ....jmo There was a 1/4 wheaton 3/4 pit bitch on the go here a few years ago and she more than held her own with all the top bred stuff.
  4. I've caught rabbits on moonlit nights with terriers and no lamp my dogs hunt up close though I don't have to worry about them buggering off.
  5. Three year old russell type dog good little catcher in cover.
  6. Parson russell x cairn she's not the best bitch out there but she's not bad, she put out plenty of rabbits and gives it her all,she will enter any cover, goes def tho not very biddable.
  7. Thats dog is out of a real hard digging pat bitch and a field trial springer dog he would follow deer like a beagle he's about 10 years old now and no health issues.
  8. dont seem to me anything with whippet blood going to get through this stuff far to big, maybe i worded it bit wrong,ok mine catches the odd one now and then yours catches quite a few here lies the difference although id guess we may well work different type cover, dont get me wrong i love them pushing out to the lurcher and bushing certainly not over productive way of catching bunnies its not really about that im just thinking ahead trying to put the extra few in the bag thats all, maybe the case as you say nothing would suit to catch them regular is why im asking the question mate cheers I h
  9. I use some small jack russells but I prefer spaniel x terriers.
  10. Sure it depends if the parents were any good any way I think there's better crosses for the job.
  11. My jrt is silent when bushing and that suits me fine on the land I bush daytime its hunted to death any noise from a dog sends them to ground I've noticed that I've a much better catch rate than people whose dogs bark on scent Amen to that rabbits have big ears and don't need a dog to bark for them to relise your coming all mine are more or less silent might give a yap when chasing one.
  12. I've this spaniel/parsons bitch I'll see how she gets on over the winter and I might get a litter off her next spring/summer if she's good enough.
  13. Cheers F@ Larry I was looking for a cocker cross few months ago to put over a terrier bitch to hopefully breed rabbit dogs I've a few terrier bitches here a young fell type few russell types and a young spaniel cross terrier bitch looks alot like your dog she's only getting started tho, what type of bitch were you hoping to cross him to.
  14. Would this fella be available for stud in the near future.
  15. I purpose hatched reza chicks late July last year in an attemt to bring down their size no luck though they are not far off their parents wait now at 11 months old and have no defects and are strong and vigorous.
  16. Their never to old for a hair cut he only looks young anyway.
  17. He might not be a manfighter but just bad tempered put another bird in front of him and if he turns around to fight you instead of facing the other bird then he's a manfighter and would probably just breed more manfighters.
  18. Would you breed from fowl that show the syptons of crd UK I've always culled anything that showed bubbles in the eyes but I'd like to hear how you keep it under controll.
  19. Maybe there clear so cross your fingers.
  20. If your sure they have coryza kill them disinfect every where, any where they sneezed is now infected but it will die after a few days, did the chicks come into contact with older birds at any stage, even if you had an older bird that was recovered before you got him or her it would still be a carrier and you could infect the chicks by just doing your daily work with them, also you can take a chick from the brooder now put your index finger in its mouth aply a bit of pressure to the roof of its mouth and with your tumb squeez the nostrill if they have coryza it will start to come out.
  21. Sounds to me like your chicks got coryza and if they do your better off to cull them, I hope I'm wrong though cause its another highly infectious disease with no cure.
  22. Thats mycoplasma alright you can medicate but they will still have it there's no 100% cure and it can transfer true the eggs and infact thats the most common way its spread chicks hatch and appear healthy but if they get confined or overcrowed thats when it will show its ugly head its up to your self what you do.
  23. Turn her free range should sort her out, its bordem alot of the time also airboard works great to stop chicks turning canibalistic keeps them occupied picking at it.
