    I'm in the midlands I don't think the fox numbers have ever really changed always been plenty about except for the urban foxes their population is exploding,but 10 mile radius is nothing fox travel further than that in a night when the pheasant men get bored of their hobby fox numbers will replenish in no time at all anyway they wont kill every fox either should be loads for the dogs in that area.

    They don't just take a bird or two they kill as many as possible.

    Ive seen 5 and 6 foxes been put out of small 2 3 acre covers seen 4 taken of a ditch this season plenty of them about over here more than enough for terriers lurchers guns or snare.

    Theres a lot of places in this country over run by foxes theres gun packs putting 25 and 30 foxes away in one day its simply not possible to control foxes with dogs alone plus a lot of farmers just wont allow dogs on land the rifle men hammered the foxes around me all winter theres still plenty about,its all well and done coming out to the country side for a days sport but when you live with them and see the havoc they cause you'll trow every thing in the book at them and as for a season for them any time you see them is a good time to cull.

    Theres plenty of foxes about me seen three together in one field their starving snared a vixen the other day she was skin and bone theres nothing left for them to eat.

    Wouldn't be with out one ,I always used a bar ferreting,and use them when needed with terriers handy for tieing off dogs if never used.

    95% of them are not hunters though their just c**ts poncing about the country side.

    Big old bugger I snared few weeks ago I never weighed or measured him I caught one bigger a few years ago it will be 20 year this April since I snared my first fox and this one and the one a few years ago are the biggest.

    I use bleach diluted with water others use salt and water and Iodine.

    Its no different back here country is over run by foxes the rifle men gave the foxes around here a right hammering at the start of the season and there's still plenty about I snared a massive one right at the enterance to my house and there's still a real nuisance fox comes into the yard right past the dogs, plenty about for digging only you need hounds to get them to ground.

    A farmer once told me that old brock was coming out of his hole late at night shagging the unsuspecting sleeping cows then buggering of back down his hole in the ground.

    Strange how TB is rife any where deer population is high the hole of Wicklow is down with TB.

    Looks like gizzmo I say theres a touch of the farmers sheep dog in there to can just picture it with a bellman on.

    Thanks I've a 3/4 beagle bitch 1/4 paterdale thinking of puting a pure harrier dog over her see how they do.

    Did you put beagle dog over laky bitch or the other way round and what did you use them for.
