    No, really it doesn't, that is completely irrelevant if you don't meet the criteria then you won't get the badge, have you actually got an SIA frontline DS licence then? There is no "board" as such, that was the LA licensing years ago when they had a committee, SIA is supposed to be consistent, if you'd had a conviction then you would be unlikely to get the badge, I've met enough lads who've been refused in my years to know they do actually turn people down.

    So they do give them to people with convictions for violence offences. There is the answer to the OP's question then, you've got an SIA frontline DS badge, and a violence conviction, there's his precedent, no reason he shouldn't get one. I'd be pm'ing you about now if I was him.

Some offences (quite rightly) are never deemed as spent under the Rehabilitation of offenders act and so will follow you around forever.     No mate you need a frontline DS licence to work the doors, or a paper one to employ DS. Nice little earner for the SIA, instead I having a standard licence and adding your skills to it, like a driving licence, you need a separate licence for each activity I thought that was the case, so the OP, if asking about a DS licence is most likely planning to work as a DS. The One confused me lol.

    He asked about the DS licence, can you work the door with a different sector badge? Like a retail one? I thought, that to work as a "front line" DS which means direct contact with the public you had to have a front line badge, there are loads of lads around here who think their stupid wheel clampers badge entitles them to working the door, but it doesn't. Bottom line with the SIA, it was an income generation scheme for the goverment, I've never even had my badge checked in all the years I've had it.

    When you get a CRB check, it shows everything, then they decide what they can take into account, but they know everything you've been convicted of.
