Yes mate, I do use eyelets in my collars normally, but on anything over 3 layers thick the eyelets aren't long enough to go through, I've found it impossible to get longer eyelets. Have been to the manufacturers and they say that it isn't possible to fix them once they get longer than 5mm as the stem crushes before the turnover folds. Have had the melted holes collars tested extensively and have had no problems so far. So there's your answer, hope it makes sense! All the best.

And I'd like to add my apology to Mac's above! I'd also like to replace that collar with one of my newer type if I may!! It might be serviceable, but it isn't as posh as the new type! All the best. A

Oh go on then! LOL You're number 4 person, but number 6 collar I'm giving away, so that's the last for now! PM me some details, colour, neck size etc and I'll get it made with the others in the next few days mate. All the best. A

Hi mate, Not sure which collar you mean that has the D ring in the middle? I make my collars with the D at the end, so when it is on the dog the collar loops through the D first, which if it is a 4 ply collar means that any pulling force goes through 6 layers of webbing. I have made collars specifically for chain use, these are a basic flat collar with no D ring that is then threaded through an O ring or swivel. Order details are on my website mate, well contact details are, I don't do any of this electronic payment witchcraft, I am cash or postal order only, advantages to you of this are

Guess you're not wanting a free collar off me then ................. Can't see where on this thread that I started I asked how good others where? This thread was to get some ideas for development of another type of collar that I can make. Am made up for you that you're happy with what you've got ....................... meanwhile back at the original question ................

Thanks for the pic Mr ANWL, is that definitely a 40mm/1.5" collar? It looks like a wider one, one of my 50mm/2inch collars? Hard to tell without anything to scale it to though  Thansk for putting the pic up, much appreciated.

Hi Jacko, I don't make 1" wide collars, because you can buy them in most pet shops, I started doing my thing because I couldn't get what I wanted in the UK easily. I make most of the collars to order usually, this way say a dog has a 15" neck, then the collar would fit 13/14/15/16/17 That way there isn't too much hanging out, so to speak. I can also provide on request at no extra charge a second loop, that isn't attached to the collar so if it was for a pup it might fit from 13" at the smallest hole up to 18", the extra can be used until the dog takes up the extra length and stops the

Thank you mate, much appreciated.

Ok chaps, well we're certainly getting somewhere now! So I need to use either brass or stainless steel fittings, on a plain coloured collar, (have got bright Orange here already ) Now, the Strongheart link ............... I have got myself in trouble in the past for making comparisons with a certain other European manufacturer ... So won't be doing that again! But, is 15 Euros expensive for a collar? That's 10 quid, now assuming the collars will last a couple of years at least, (mine had better last that long!!) then is that still considered expensive? If it is then
-
Thanks to the first 2. Just to clear something up, I don't make leather collars, I have made a few in the past but they are too time consuming and expensive to make properly and I don't like shortcuts! I make all my gear from British made webbing, and the fittings are all made in England too. Was thinking along the lines of this: 38 mm wide, this one is 5 ply, but that might be a bit of overkill? I have so far only used steel fittings, that are nickel plated, haven't had any back so far .............. I haven't used brass because it is softer and less hard wearin

Have been asked to make a few collars for Patterdales, but thought it best to ask on here what you lads would want from a collar.............. No, I can't make them that give hand relief! Am thinking that 1.5" wide would be best, with a minimum of shiny bits on, maybe 4 or 5 ply for strength, with a removable D ring or loop so it would just leave a flat collar with just a buckle and nothing that could snag anywhere? Obviously they need to be hard wearing, washable etc. Any other suggestions? First 5 that add suggestions can have a free one when I get the design ri

MFR ! Beautifully made and finished, proper craftsmanship. Have got one in .22 myself, with a Bushnell Legend 5 - 15 X 40 scope on, am soooooooooooo pleased with it. Really a pleasure to use, have had a few rifles over the last 25 years and this is the best by a long way, only thing that could improve on this I reckon would be a Ben Taylored one maybe? Are you buying new? All the best.

Don't want to sound like a fanny here, butif you are going to adjust the power then get it checked on a chrono, either at a gun shop or a club, better safe than very sorry mate.

YES! Place seems full of the great unwashed though............. -
 Collars anyone? Handmade in England from all British components, I actually pay more for British buckles and D rings than I could for Far East shite (like other firms use.... )

Mate's got a Spectre, or rather half a one, the stock snapped, am just trying to get him a new one! Hope you've got an F.A.C. for that 19ft/lb gun mate.....................

It was a Theoben SLR 88 this time last week, Gas ram underlever thingy, then I went to Target Sports in Bolton to get a few bits and he wanted to buy it off me, so I got a very good deal against a Falcon T Bird Titanium rifle, which once I got it home and had a play was both too light and also had leaked the air out :realmad: So all credit to Target Sports went back the next day, another 100 mile round trip  and changed it for a a BSA Super Ten in .177, walnut stock etc, am well pleased with this one, seems nice and consistent with H+N Field Target pellets so far any way........

Was in there today buying my new gun and they've got a tin of those on the counter to take a few to try, they certainly look the part, will report back on groupings etc when I've had a few days with my new gun!

Just a thought........ Get in touch with the manufacturer and ask if they can replace the eyelet thingy that's come out, worth a try, you might get a new pair if you say how wonderful they've been etc. Good luck! A.
