  1. The Calder received 32,732 hours of sewage pumping last year. Funnily enough it does have some big chub in it though.
  2. It’s definitely worth seeking out a vet that’s familiar with ferrets, a lot get a bit flustered when you mention ferrets. When I had mine done I could have had the bit of pipe they removed sent away to make sure it had worked. I never bothered just waited a couple of months before I let him loose. If you have more than one Jill, he might favour 1 over the rest and pester her to death, mine did. I used to separate him off and put 1 jil at a time in with just to make sure he sorted all of them out. Once he’d been with all my Jills, he had free rain living with all of them. Worked for me
  3. Same as what has already been said, keep them well fed, watered, warm and handled. IMHO it’s the wet that gets to them more than the cold, try and keep them covered when it’s wet. A meat diet is best. But if you do go down the dry route, supplement it with plenty of meat and the occasional egg. I bedded mine in either straw or shredded paper. Just gave them a big pile in the sleep box. If they were too warm they’d kick it out. If dragging shavings in, they needed a bit more bedding. Sorry for the long reply. This worked for me, others might think it’s a load of shite!
  4. I've got a vasc hob and a castrated hob. At this time of year I split them up as the vasc hob bums the shite out of the other. Rest of the year they're fine together.
  5. Got 2 Jills and a vas hob. It gives me options if the jills wont bolt anything i can always stick the hob down the hole. Always have the option to breed from the jills in the future if you need to as well.
  6. It depends on the hob. Mine pesters the jills to death, so he has his own love shack to himself.
  7. Don't feed cheap cat food. Bought a kit in that had been feed on the crap and ended up with bladder stones because of it. Cost a fortune at the vets.
  8. I don't think age has to much of a beaing on him being up to the job, known some right randy old goats. The problem is being put under for the op, the older they get there's more of a risk of not coming round, mine was put under when he was 3 and was fine. Cheers Sean
  9. i don'r normaly post on this site, but here goes. Britain is being taken over, at any over point in history it would be called an invasion, so why not fight agaist it. I know that there will be people that say live and let live, but sorry if this impacts on my day to day life, I say fight the f***ers to the end.I not a racist, but i am an anti islamist fundamentalist. The old proverb don't bite the hand that feeds you springs to mind. I admit I have had a few sherberts at this point, but my believes are still the same
  10. Castrated one of mine, calmed he down no end. Not that he was nasty or anything, just skitish. It cost about £40, in and out same day. Cheers Sean
  11. My two don't, vac one still gets into breeding mode and starts knocking ten bells out of the cas one,but that might just be my two. See how they go, but more than likely you will have to separate them. When it starts to gets into autumn and they all calm down they are best buds Cheers Sean
  12. Used to give my kits a quick squirt of flea fly spray for kittens/pups. Not as effective as frontline etc, but saved me worrying if i was going over dose them and endup killing them
  13. My little polecat jill escaped over night, if anyone comes across her could let us know please. I live I Howden E.yorks by the way. Cheers Sean
  14. Cheers for the replies. Looks like it's a case of wait and see then if the snip has worked
  15. Now then lads, need a bit of advice. Going to use a my newly vasectomised hob this year, never done this before, I'm led to believe that there is a good chance that the jills will have a phantom. Now my question is are there any signs that it's a phantom or is it a case of waiting to see if a litter is born. Cheers Sean
