  1. I hope AJ will be king but he hasn't been hit yet or gone past 6 rounds than we will know what his all about. Happy fury got the decision
  2. I think Charlie pushed on and the terrier couldn't get to him. The terrier was too eager to leave the earth for my liking anyway but I wanted more views because I thought maybe I was being a bit hard on the terrier. Fox bolter go and shag your sheep. Mole265 I've probably had more gear than you have had hot dinners and I reckon your a fat c#nt! Jiggy you talk a lot of sense
  3. Thankyou to all the genuine posts that replied I now have a better understanding as to why the quarry was not there. I guess it's not as simple as put dog down hole dig to dog and meet quarry. There are many variables, as I said I get all my quarry through bushing . Happy hunting
  4. No wind up dyktos genuine question. Why not give a genuine answer instead of messing threads up. If a novice ask me a question about bushing I would help them to the best of my ability. I thought that was the whole purpose of this website. A lot of egos on here. Happy hunting
  5. Very good mole265 too many words. Gentleman like me love pictures
  6. I'm very curious as to how a terrier can make contact than lose quarry also not been out with the man before. I use spaniel Russell's very good in cover
  7. No the gentleman said we should leave it I was baffled being a busher if Charlie is giving my dogs the run around they will not leave till it is bolted. I understand Charlie can get into tight tubes but if the dog made contact should it of stayed with its quarry? Thanks for your reply
  8. I went digging a couple of weeks ago with a gentleman. Must stress I'm a busher and this is why I'm asking for other peoples opinions. The dog entered and we had a mark. Dug down no Charlie but the terrier was marked up from Charlie. But he was nowhere to be seen. I believe if the terrier had contact with Charlie when we dug down they should have been mouth to mouth. However the gentleman explained Charlie had pushed on. What do you think?
  9. Lovely pup really like the type you keep bet its a buzz when their on Charlie's arse!
  10. I had a bitch worked her in season no problems . Every dog is different though give her a few runs a see how she goes happy lamping
  11. I have a springer that I use purely for bushing foxes to my lurcher she's keen as mustard. She has a terrier mentality the first time she got bit she ran a mile. But the second one I caught she was mouth to mouth eversince than she's always at the sharp end. I don't believe all springers are like this I think I am just lucky to have her. However brought on right cockers or springers will definitely hunt fox with a passion. I must say I hunt covers against fences and allotments if you were hunting big forests and covers I would go for more beagle types. Fox pack on here has some lovely cocker b
  12. Morton is a prick I've seen loads of posts his a keyboard warrior
  13. Just have to be a good shot
  14. Bushing is bushing whether to a gun or lurcher. IMO a spaniel should be able to work at any range and be under control

Same as any other dog if brought up right and well socialised should be no probs. seen wheatons in packs with no probs
  16. I have a pal who keeps Russell type dogs but there is English bull terrier in his strain they are some of the Gamest terriers I've seen digging and bushing.
  17. Sorry I didn't answer your question I believe springers and cockers are as good as each other depends on dog whatever breed. But I do like a small springer with bags of drive. Best bushing dog I have had for foxes is a springer bitch
  18. Yes I think your right mate, they do love to hunt but I found they need to be left for it to come out before any heavy training starts. Do you think Cockers are the same or as good as Springers? I agree jeemes they need to find their nose first than gentle encouragement to bring that instinct out . I love it when it all finally comes together and they smash that cover like a steam train. My pup is just a year but using his nose a lot more now every trip is slightly better than the last. I think it helps having one already doing it. Jeemes do you have springers I take it?
  19. I used to bush with terriers for fox. Cut a long story short I now use 2 springers and wouldn't go back. These dogs are so versatile and will hunt anything you want. My older springer was brought over from Ireland and just used for rabbiting after a few outings she new what the new prey was. She is harder than some terriers and if old Charlie is laying up in a bramble she won't leave till his bolted. The pup is about a year and hitting cover hard when something is at home. My experience with these dogs is they just love to hunt and very easy to train.
  20. Mine was a Russell what a dog I started him on rabbits by 2 he was bolting foxes everytime I took him out. He caught loads in cover and held them till I got there lol tried breeding off him but left it too late. I remember once I lost him and went home I was only a kid my mum went over our local park. She found him in a container with a fox he was red roar. That dog taught me so much about hunting I could write a book.
  21. Happy she pulled through for you mate
  22. Quality video mate can't beat cockers or springers for bushing love their energy. I have two myself one loves teeth too. The blue and white whippet is a nice dog
  23. Morton if beddys were so good why so few working them? Because there no good that's why. I have 2 spaniels and they would wipe the floor with your lamb dogs. Been out with beddys in my eyes never seen a good one. Spaniel or spaniel cross leave the beddy at home in your birds handbag
  24. Personally I think there are far better bushing dogs out there like a spaniel and a lot more obedient
