Call Out For "ffloyd"
gwalchmai4110 replied to gwalchmai4110's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
for no other reason than to hide my rosy cheeks as I was blowing out of my bum and my face is covered in shite! lol -
mate what he asked for it was almost insulting as I work in a builders merchants and I don't think I could buy the raw materials for what he charged me for the little box, and thats without his time. its a belter mate and like I say it weighs nothing
-
a few of you may have seen my advert looking for a small poaching type box........and a lot of you pointed my toward jok. when I contacted him he said...."I thought you may ask for one of these so I have already made it!" so I had no waiting time at all. if that's isn't service I don't know what is!!! it arrive and I cannot stress enough the quality of the build with this little box! its amazing! and the other thing I cannot stress enough is the weight...........or lack of it. it weighs nothing at all. pics don't do it justice but in conclusion....... TOP BLOKE TOP PRODUCTS!

Call Out For "ffloyd"
gwalchmai4110 replied to gwalchmai4110's topic in Earthdogs & Working Terriers
not ffloyds line like I say I bought in a dog with a view to use as an outcross if the day ever came and I was desperate. But the black and white dog in the picture is off a line that has been with my family for 30 years. no big names just worker to worker, and then back to a worker! so far so good! atb -
I had a call out from a keeper sunday morning as he had seen evidence of Charles helping himself to things that don't concern him. loaded up early and set off for a look to see what I could do. this ground was a tad unfamiliar to me so I loaded up with a few different dogs for a few different jobs. I met the keeper and after a bit of banter and a catch up I boxed up a couple of the "white warriors" and we set of looking for the culprit. the place he took me to was quite clearly a rabbit warren and I thought for a minute he had lost the plot. the holes looked like a rabbit would struggl

Ending A Poor Season, On A High With The Whippets.
gwalchmai4110 replied to gwalchmai4110's topic in Lurchers & Running Dogs
thank you mate! I don't think there is any point not being honest mate, especially when it comes to dogs mate as not only are you doing your mutts a injustice but you will soon be found out. there are enough dreamers in the dog world. atb -
First Few Moles, And Advice Needed
gwalchmai4110 replied to gwalchmai4110's topic in Snaring, Trapping & Pest Control
thank you very much for your reply mate. I have a small holding and on my neighbours and my ground I noticed a lot of mole activity. so to keep my self occupies now whilst the season with the lurchers and terriers is over I ordered 50 traps and declared war on the moles! so its just a bit of fun to be honest but I must admit it is somewhat addictive at the moment and like a kid a Christmas I find my self excited for the end of work to do my "moleing round" but I don't know if im over / under trapping but I suppose like above it is somewhat trial and error. I am using scissor traps and -
First Few Moles, And Advice Needed

thank you mate that makes logical sense to be fair atb -
since buying in a few different traps the moles have been coming thick and fast. so im happy about that. my question is......... how many traps do you put down? is there a rule of thumb.....for example if there are 10 mole tumps in one area how many traps would you put down to cover that area? atb

this season has been poor in a number of ways for me, it just seems to have been one of them where something unavoidable always comes up! I have not managed to get out half as much as my mutts deserved this season but I have don my fair share I suppose. on the up side I have had a few young dogs come through and start committing to the game which is always a good feeling. I have had to let a couple of boys down with invites off here which is crap as I love seeing other boys dogs work (even if they do usually highlight a number of short fallings in my own tyke) but rest assure I am

I was talking to an old boy the other day and he had a ginger mole in his landrover that he had just retrieved from a trap. so I was just wandering if these were rare findings and if any one here has had any or indeed any white ones? any pics would be great atb
