  6. my new 3" skinning style knife has just arrived from this gentleman. what a top quality piece of kit!! great little knife with a black buffalo horn handle and a stitched leather case. real top bloke to deal with and the end product is fantastic, and just screams quality highly recommended
  7. terrible pictures. I have one in the kennel. he is 3/4 whippet 1/4 collie...... He has a fantastic nature and is very obedient.....BUT..... He is useless!!! nothing to do with him I took him on as a rescue as the lad was a low life but he has no ounce of prey drive! pity really atb

Were I still bang into my lamping bud I'd not look past the old crew I kept,these desert dawgs truthfully would die with a fraction of the workload or at least the big black & tan dog would the other still being a pup so I'd be silly saying the same at this stage..I've seen my big desert dog achieve things solo that not even two of my old curs could muster together,I like the desert dogs mate,they are phenomenal hunters,their running style is accustomed to all types of land be it wheat,seeded,plough,heather,fell or forest,don't be fooled into believing they are one trick ponies they are fa
  11. the 4th from bottom picture is stunning mate great form to that mutt. they look as though they can move when needed. without opening a can of worms buddy how do you find the desert dogs compared to your minishaw line? I know they are totally different animals and its horses for courses and all that but I mean how do they perform for YOUR personal needs, as I know there was a fair bit of game put horizontal by you currs so just wandering how these measured up? atb

  14. yep I have certainly been there mate but fairplay for taking the plunge. im guilty of just letting the years roll by without thinking of breeding, and before you know it its to late. I have vowed to breed myself a litter this year or next so we shall see.

  18. yes takes an odd sort! some little oink turned up at my house asking about dogs only last night.......(my dogs are not kennelled there)....and I invited him in for a beer as I would any one with a shared interest, and I asked him about why he wanted a terrier of my line to which he came out with........"I have dug three litters of cubs so far this year and have a few more lined up but my dog struggles as the tubes are tight, and I heard you have smaller dogs!" I was astonished to be fair and when I asked him his thoughts on having to kill cubs he said it was his favourite time of year! we
  19. good man. no its not nice as im a bit of a nature freak at heart and love these longer days as I can look for other critters, and scout out next season sport. I like to let the dogs have a rest with a bit of son on there back as all season I go at it like a mad man. haven't been able to do as much this season for different reasons but done more than my fair share. lucky enough it wasnt a litter of cubs that was the culprits on this day which is grand as that to me is a hateful job. lovely looking dog in that picture mate. looks a strong un atb
  20. delayed post as I have been in Ireland fr the week....... but the Saturday before I went, I woke up to answer phone on my mobile of a farmer telling me they were loosing heavy of one field in particular. this is a late one for that area as the lambs are normally to big and strong to be on the menu for Charlie at this time of year. after having a barny with my wife (as she was moithering me to pack) I shoved my limited wardrobe into a sports bag and flung it into the car!! viola one packed bag!! finally then I rushed off to box a few dogs for the hours drive.   22. well I have had box out a couple of time just to get ferrets used to it and have had no issues of yet! and one of my jills is a right scratcher. I personally wanted this box with that mesh on it so jok sorted me out im pretty sure he would build it exactly to individual specification. all in all he built me exactly what I wanted, so im made up atb

  25. hi lads. probably not the correct section but I know there is a few lads on here from Ireland, or that venture over regular. I am going over for a week as of Monday and I am staying in clonmel. just wandering if any one can point me in the correct direction for a few nice walks in the are or surrounding? just looking for somewhere to have a bit of a hike to see a few bits and bobs? any info would be greatly appreciated atb
