I generally ask questions like what kind of animals they have and things like that, not questions about can I A,B,C,D. Also, it makes sense to justify questions if people are shying away from you. For example, "What kinds of animals do you keep? I'm not being nosey, but at another permission I saw some cows were in a field and it was a chicken farm. So obviously they had escaped and were wrecking the silage. So knowing the animals that should be around allows you to keep a check on what's going on. [maybe add a small story about how you helped a farmer sort out some escaped sheep or something

Same as mine. Not sure there was a gift option.

Next time I pop down there, I think I'm going to head down a little early, watch the rabbits, then set to a little ratting in the barns/houses.

Just paid. Lot 32.

I hate having to be away with the wife when I end up missing an auction! Is it too late to offer £180 for the EDRD cover photo? The wife dragged me away for the day so I couldn't defend my bid!

At one of my permissions (my favourite one) the grass has been chopped, and the rabbits have disappeared. Totally changed location. I think I know where they are. Is this normal?

Here was an unexpected event, out first thing, I get to my usual permission, the next thing I know, all the grass has been cut and there's not a single rabbit in site. So I trot around, and meander, and walk about and nothing! The only thing that was semi shootable was a rabbit on the other side of a small stinging nettle out crop, about 2 meters from me, that I only realised it was there when it shot off before me and into the hedges. The only reason it was shootable was by law. Although the laws of physics made it impossible to actually shoot. So the only shootable animal all morning

Here here. I was taught this by a guy that keeps Pits. Because we have Whippets and an Italian Greyhound, I don't worry too much that they'll get caught. All the really fast dogs around our way, greyhounds and lurchers, seem to be really good. The only problem can be when they get all submissive and just cower, instead of run away. But I'm always aware that if a dog tags one of ours, a finger up the wrong-un is the way to go. Minging, but at least we won't have a dead dog....providing I get there soon enough.

If you already have a permission and are doing a good job, then that is your foot in the door. As for Kelly Brook....get in line mate haha.

I just asked my wife who deals with this kind of thing down the vets where she works. "Burns. If they're working Labs, and need to put on size. The best dry food for what he wants is Burns. If you're going to bulk it up, you can use sweet potato and cooked chicken." She did say that not all dogs are the same and that it's worth a little experimentation. My personal view...my wife knows her stuff! Nutritionist, does dog massage for many working dogs (including 2 working labs, soon to be 3).

Zero Effort Rabbit Stalk + Awful Luck Continues
RemyBolt replied to RemyBolt's topic in Airgun Hunting
Get ready for another massively worded shooting story tomorrow. Zero is still good at 27 meters. New RWS pellets ready to rock and roll. Gun oiled, and I'm ready to start the fun. If the weather's good, I'll try the zero effort snooze-stalk technique again. It worked fine last time, just failed to execute at the final hurdle. Not this time though. This time I will lift aloft the fruit of much hard labour. The outcome of many hours hard work...sleeping on the job, like a lazy dog on a sun drenched porch, lay back watching someone steal the masters milk from beside me! That is my hunting sty -
I'm really not after a load of responses about how awful the change is and how it's stupid, and things like that. To be fair, it's Ian's website, so his forum his rules. One thing I'm just genuinely curious about, what is the reason for the change? I've not had an Avatar ever, so I'm not hassling. I'm honestly interested. Is it because we have more female members, younger members, or something like that? Is it to give the image that hunters are not just meat head brainless men? Is it to generally clean up the image of UK hunting? Is it the response action after a plethora of co

Cheers lads. Much appreciated.

I like the look of them. Will be buying some soon.

I can't get along with Game of Thrones. It feels too much like Eastenders meets Lord of the Rings.

I was going to say the same as CBdogA1. Give it to a trusted family member. Maybe even put it into a corporation/company, that you created, then transfer ownership of shares, via sale, to a trusted friend or family member. Then have it transferred back at a later date. So it would look like this. £30'000. ----> Remy Inc (set up company) owned by Remy.----> Shares sold to Paulus for £5.00 total.--(divorce happens)--->Paulus hands over ownership of the shares of Remy Inc back to Remy (all assets intact).--->Remy Inc provides renumberation to Paulus for services provided.-

Fate, what a cruel mistress she is. Scratch passed away. He was in my care for 3 hours, and inevitably passed away. The massive fall from a really high tree may have had something to do with it.

Sadly, Scratch has passed away. He will be missed. I think the fall from a massive tree may have had something to do with it.

The world has a massive sense of humour. Today I found a baby crow on the floor of our office carpark. With the wife working at a vets, and having a desire to rescue any animal...I now have a corvid to look after. Ironically, I now have started...I guess.
-
This world has a level of irony that does not grow old! In the office at the moment, sat next to a box. Granted sitting next to a box is nothing impressive. But let me explain... The temperature over here is pretty high, so I open my window. My hunter's eye (you know when you get used to automatically spotting animals around you) sort out a small black object out of place. I pop into the gravel carpark to find a baby corvid (possibly crow, rook, raven, or jackdaw) sat on the floor. Usually I'd leave it there, but this time there was an issue. The local cat population is near double

Ah mate, harsh. I was going to suggest going full night vision gear to get around the footpath issue. Legislation....I always check with BASC on anything like that.

There's no way the wife would allow that, it's took me a few years to convince her that camping will be fun lol , one of the rules were that it will have to be in a campsite, i can live with that for a while lol. I can't!!! Had to have a week in the woods without a tent last time I was stuck in a campsite! haha. Dof E was like a concentration camp! My tent leaked, so I just went into the local woods and made a shelter and slept in there for the night. Teachers went mad when they couldn't find me. I slept like a boss though haha.

Can I ask why Wild Camping (rough camping) is out of the question? My friend took her little one camping at 1 year old. They would go camping regularly/monthly in the summer. She's 4 now and still loves camping.

Hello everyone. I was out running over the weekend and was stopped in my tracks watching a few different kinds of birds of prey. It got me wondering about hunting with them, so thought I'd post on here and ask a few questions. But I'll keep it to one at a time. How would someone totally new to falconry start?

He still bench press your scrawny little arse wi one hand... he deff very strong bloke, ok he used few jabs to help get his size. But he still lift some good weights in training , I watched him in pumping iron vid , and think held record in his country for lifting some heavy stones or something like that lol . but think it fooked him up in later life with heart probs what he got now . In my opinion Arnold was a near perfect specimen genetically and without doubt the greatest bodybuilder in history. Franco columbu who trained a lot with Arnie although lighter than him had a very well ba
