  1. Watch this before it's taken off Youtube A lot of the Anti-Muslim media is covered up.
  2. Wow, there's some varied opinions on this subject. Personally, I'm not a fan of killing without 'justifiable' reason. However, due to people having different opinions, morals, upbringing, and the alike, 'justifiable' is so very open a term. For me, a justifiable kill is a kill with a purpose towards a greater good (now there's another open term) or without detriment toward the environment/ecology/species. So, ratting (my regular shooting) is justifiable in that the breeding rate is massive, and taking out as many rats as I can is still but a drop in the ocean (no comments about me
  3. Happy days! RATTING TONIGHT!!!! My cough has all but resided. The delicate waft of Lockets may travel the rafters of the chicken houses/barns tonight. I'm trying to get the farmer to get one of those litter-picker-grabber sticks so that I can start picking up rats for him. Truth is, I just want one of those cool photos of loads of dead pests laid out before my little RatCatcher. After that, I'll be setting snares and hoping for some beginner's luck.
  4. I think there's a 50cal waiting for him somewhere. Gut shot! Either that or a judge well versed in poetic-justice with the appreciation of irony. Death by Beheading!
  5. To be fair, I didn't even realise hornets were poisonous. I assume it's the same sort of thing as bee poison?
  6. LOTS of practice. Get into a routine, each movement the same, and you'll get better accuracy with consistent actions. One of the best things I've found, prop up the front of the gun on a sandbag type thing and pull the stock deep into your shoulder. Of course that's only useful for prone shots. Think of it this way, instead of practicing cool shots and variations (lay on your side, standing, kneeling, seated, from the car, etc), practice 1 shot to perfection. Bruce Lee said he did not fear the man that had practiced 10'000 punches 1 time. He feared the man that practiced 1 punch 10
  7. Check out these beasties: http://casualnotebook.files.wordpress.com/2013/12/hornets.jpg?w=529 Found that picture when a woman in the office was telling me about pests she's dealt with.
  8. Haha, yes. I'm the only Armish with ipods, mobile phones, solar panels, guns, a car, and stuff like that. I'm kidding, I'm not really Armish. It's just TV's that I'm not a fan of. Never really been a fan of watching TV. As a kid I was too energetic to sit down and watch anything. Because I don't drink and never have (I've been drunk 5 or 6 times in my life) I've never monged out in bed with a hangover and watched hangover TV. At uni I didn't have a TV either, although I would play on my mate's playstation, obviously with him in his room on his TV. A games console is the only reason I would
  9. We actually didn't notice we didn't have a TV for the first 6 months. We're so used to not being TV oriented that it wasn't until a neighbour said "Where's your TV" that it really dawned on us.
  10. We (my wife and I) love to read, learn other languages, spend time talking to each other, hang out with friends, go to the gym, go on walks, a lot of Friday nights I go ratting down one of my permissions (the wife often work's early Saturday morning, so we can't often do nights out on Fridays), now and again we'll watch stuff on the laptop, but with it being a MacBook Air it's not got a CD/DVD drive. But usually we'll cuddle up, candles out, reading our books. Currently I'm reading about snaring.
  11. HAHA, I need to start putting my foot down more often....especially on a rat haha
  12. Cat brought a rat into the house. My wife would not let me shoot it! Not even with a low power air pistol! Devastated! The irony is that I spend most of my free time ratting, while I cannot ever pop a rat in my own home! Had to catch it and release it far from the house. Worse still, the wife said I could take one of the whippets ratting. Was not even allowed to take one of them with me to release the rat!
  13. HAHA, I just noticed the B and ) made the smiley glasses emoticon. It's meant to say ( B ) and not
  14. WE HAVE A RESPONSE about stamping on a rat to kill it....copied and pasted WORD FOR WORD (almost) from the email response I got. One word of note, I don't get the purple background on one of the punctuation marks. But that's as it appears in the email. Please do not let that detract from the information. Dear Mr RemyBolt, You are clearly a very sexy and overly intelligent specimen of humankind. Thankyou for your recent enquiry, I would refer you to the “Animal Welfare Act 2006” section 4, Unnecessary suffering, (1) A Person commits an offence if— (a) an act of his, o
  15. As usual, I have gone over to the BASC website and popped a quick question over to them.
  16. or even portable dvd player for about 50quid or get second hand one Hardship fund? Haha, I wouldn't complain. Although the reason we don't have a TV is out of choice and not poverty. But I won't say no to free money haha. The idea of buying a DVD player would also involve buying a TV. Portable one is an option. But I've asked a friend if I can pop round and use his computer to watch a DVD. Not heard back yet, but if it's a "yes", I'm buying me a new DVD player. Thinking about it, I might be able to watch it in the office in my lunch break. Will just bring in some headphones. Woo
  17. Just looking on Trapworks at a 4 ply snare: http://www.trapworks.co.uk/shop/rabbit-snares/4%20ply%20rabbit%20snare The wire looks really tightly twisted. Is that how it should look?
  18. Thanks lads. I had a little play with the drill and it seems okay, but I don't want to screw it up too much. Or get it totally wrong.
  19. It's times like this I wish I had a DVD player and a TV - Woodga, get your video on a paid for downloadable format. I'm playing with the brass wire and things like 2 strands for rat snares is coming to mind. I assume that's 2 strands of brass 0.457? I'm also assuming the wire needs to be twisted. Is it okay to simply twist the wire by putting it into a drill and letting it spin for a few seconds? Sorry for the total beginner questions, but I'm very keen to learn as much as I can.
  20. On a more serious, and more interesting note, I now have a load of brass wire. Time to start practicing making snares! I could be setting them on Saturday morning after ratting (around 2:30am), so it's time to start asking millions of questions. Also, going to ask a friend if I can borrow their lounge to watch Woodga's DVD. If the answer is yes, I'll purchase a copy.
  21. where you getting your wife from remmy? I could do with another around the house lol Argh, epic spelling fail. I think you should just get one the same place you got your last wife...Thailand wasn't it?
  22. I would be guessing around 75-80lbs. The thing is, blue sharks have a very light skeletal structure, so can totally throw off estimates. This shark is an 80lb catch: http://fishinginireland.info/news/sea-reports/charter-fishing-on-clare-coast-makes-most-of-weather-windows-porbeagles-taken/
  23. Apparently my wife is on it's way, so I'm hyped about that. I used to work selling electrical wire, so made a few calls and they've got hold of some 26 gauge (it might have been 28 gauge I forget if it's 26 or 28) for me super cheap! As soon as it arrives (definitely in the post) I'll be armed with meters of 0.457 brass wire! Poor rats. Shot up in the night, then when I'm gone...I'm still taking them out.
  24. They'll always have low numbers if you're doing your job right haha.
  25. Thanks for the info Mr Tea Pot. For the sake of legality, I'll keep my snares on the floor
