  1. tennis balls on a string flung around the place is the only job for fitness, i train security and scent dogs, i teach my pups/young dogs to find tennis balls and as they get older the training gets harder and the difficulty increases this helps to increase the hunt drive in the dogs through frustration. no shortage of tennis balls and they are cheap, mental and physical stimulation
  2. my step mother had 2 of them about 6 or 7 years ago one of them was 8yrs old and one was about 5yrs old at the time, while out on a walk along the river they came across a mink, cut a long story short the mink got away and the younger 5 yr old one died at the vets, a pair of w@$kers if you ask me. not a breed I'd be too interested in at all
  3. exactly right, it's why i went with tried and tested breeds bred from worker to work,I haven't the patience or desire to re-invent the wheel, if they were that good back in the day they would of maintained some kind of working following for sure but there were obviously far superior breeds for the same job
  4. i'm buying a pieps box and 2 x ortovox hundestte transmitters my pal will make me 2 custom collars, as good as b&f i'm told and about £250-£260 all in brand new with 5yr warranty. looks the best option at the moment for me
  5. kerrys are not for me at all, defo needs fell and whetan blood to toughen them up
  6. excellent reading, the French know how to hunt, bake bread and make a decent cup of coffee, I'm looking forward to going back, next time I'll be bringing my terriers
  7. i'm looking to locate the breeder of my patt/lakeland now 14 months, i bought off another guy and lost his no. he told me about his breeder in omagh northern Ireland, i'd rather not say too much on the public forum but if there is anyone familiar with the digging lads in this area could you please pm please, i'd like to get in touch with them , cheers. paul co.meath
