  1. You can drop some off in Sheffield on your way through Yorkshire. Cup of Yorkshire tea and a walk around some new land with the dog waiting!!!
  2. We tried to do this but when we put the wire through the jig it snapped . we also heated up the trap after being made but still no luck ?? Iwm
  3. Well i tried to make a putange trap but cant get the trap to keep the power to kill everytime. we tried to heat the wire as it entered into the machine and used three types of wire but failed.Every time after 2/3 settings all the energy from the spring coil had gone. Many thanks to everyone who sent me the traps and i will pm you all to send them back.. It looks like the french web site for me. Thanks everyone IWM
  4. Shoot a magpie and freeze it till you are ready to set your first trap. works for me every time IWM.
  5. Any news on the possibility of having these traps made ??? ....... Had the jig made. Tried a couple of traps with the wire we had but the spring in the wire would not hold after moving the trap about. I have ordered a small roll of a heavy duty wire and we are going to try to heat it as it goes into the machine. Not as easy as just putting the wire through and a trap comes out, maybe the french website is the way to go but i will try one more time.
  6. Pms sent to Socks and Nicepics. I will make sure you get them back with hopefully a few more. Left the trap sent by Mr muddy with Jon ,He will make the jig on monday and then try one or two for me to look at next week, although i wanted him to stay at work and do them now , he told me to off. Some poeple just dont understand how important somthing like this is!!! iwm
  7. Just walked in the house from a few hours shooting feral pigeons and the trap from Mr Muddy is waiting on the door mat(Thank you). You would need a setting tool to set these traps they seem quite well made. Quick shower and i will take it round to see if we can make a few .I think some type of jig has to be made to fit the machine first but everything seems to be ok to go. I have printed a photo of the setting tool of the interweb so you never know i could get him to make this as well???. Iwm
  8. Trap on its way to me so we can take a look at quaility etc (thanks mr muddy) but we are trying a high tensile steel wire made in sheffield (my home city) so it should withstand a little harsh weather, also a galvenised high strengh wire and see which will work best. We are going to look at the washer for the trigger ( thanks old trap collector) connected with a fine wire so not to loose it. As for the setting tool that could be work in progress but we have several small tool makers locally that will be able to help iwm I don't understand the need for a setting tool ... I set all mine b

  10. could they not be made from say 3mm high tensilesteel wire?I have use of a machine at a relatives work place that bends tensile steel wire to any size/shape if i could get hold of one of these traps i am sure he could make them here.????Cheers IWM. It would be very interesting to see what price he could produce them for ....... I will talk to him this weekend but he will need a profile to work from. It must be the sameprice as the ones from france or no one will buy them?? iwm I'll post you one if you promise to send me a few of the new ones you make back. P.M. me your address.

  13. I had the same problem last year at a school in worksop . I have my own harris hawks but these would just be attacked and out numbered by gulls as my hawks dont hunt to kill just to scare( you dont need a hawk pulling a gull/pigeons head off while the children are looking out of the window at you). You would need a falcon if you used a bird of prey but the gulls soon see your van pull up and will fly off untill you go. So you will need to price for a hawk kite or maybe two,I had one one the roof and one on a flag pole on the playing field but had to move them about to keep the gulls on ther
  14. I agree with F/B but maybe move the permanent trap covers somewhere else and feed on the unset traps for awhile before resetting good luck!!!
  15. I have a metal wall stud finder in the van from b&q if i loose a trap or the maker is removed i just scan the ground with the stud finder works to about 8 inch deep. Unless it nicked !!! iwm.
  16. Be very aware of this gentleman as he seems to have a an lack of respect for most pestcontrollers and a lot of respect for the money you put in his pocket. Take a look at his veiws on checking mole traps daily which is unworkable in practice on large contracts. The N.P.T.A. seem to have dropped him after a vote from members, but you have to make your own mind up. I have traped moles all my life and i dont have to pay someone else to tell me i can do it. IWM.
  17. Try cylindrical tunnel traps. I had some from Albion manufacturing, I needed to clear rabbits from a large gorse area on a golf course and the head groundsman didnt like the idea of cutting the bushes back. The rabbit is caught alive as the trap is pushed into the rabbit hole and could be time consuming on large warrens but i used it on several smaller warrens. I only used them as i found the purse nets harder to place and keep clear of snags, and the dog hated the gorse bushes. I only had three but left them overnight and out of sight under the gorse, and had one or two in each trap over the
  18. Traps air gun and dogs no resistance to them!!!!!!
  19. The best way is to knock on doors, Look at other pest controllers work and you will soon find out you can take the the jobs away from them. Some of larger firms are taking customers for granted with poor service and bad practice. All my work comes from walking into shops/commercial/industrial units and asking the question. I have a website but i find most customers i talk to will look at the site as soon as i leave, some call back and some i have to visit again but most will have checked out my site. Dont let anyone tell you how to run your company if you want to add to your list of talents (b
  20. Anybody use Manchester terriers on rats. I grew up in the 60s with my dad and grandad using a Manchester all the time,Looking around for one and all i find are show bred types, just trying to find out if a working strain is still about. My jack russell is 9 this year and although still fit and catching a few rats age is catching up on her (and me). So the walk around a couple of farms and a golf course is all we do now!!!. iwm
  21. I see what your saying. Thing is the have nothing so don't have anything to lose. Only thing they have to lose is their families. We blitz the general population for years killing civilians. Then wonder why they fookin hate us. If the you were in the same situation as the afgans wouldnt you and your family fight to the death, i know me and my sons would for our family, and take out all the scum around us as well. (vote ukip)
  22. you will have to put up with the newbies for a few years yet. I am a dry stonewaller (for the last 40 years) and had to put up with everyone who had a weekend course trying to make a living from walling. The prices dropped (like a stone ). but sooner or later it will stop and all the newbies will return to jobs in nice warm offices. Until then you will have to keep working hard catching moles and showing everyone you work for you are good at what you do, all the others will drift away. By the way i am just about to trap a few moles on a golf course i have been walling on sorry lads !!!!!.
  23. I bought 2 new 50 yard long nets last year, so i made my old 25 yard net into a drop net by sewing led into to bottom of the net with the bottom fixed with large heavy washers to slide up and down the poles, held it i place with cord wrapped around from one end to the other only used it twice but did the job both times. its easy to pull the cord back through the net when you return to the net. If i get time this week i will set the net at home and take some photos.
