  1. I'm in exactly the same boat, weve got a massive rat problem at home and i need to pull my finger out. I nearly shat myself last night when i closed the chiken and 1 ran past my leg, didn't have the nerve to move let alons stand on the twat. Peanut butter or nuttella worked last time.
  2. When are you getting married? Red Stags start July 1st,i believe there is a very good chap in solway called Colin aka solway stalker Dumfries way has some cracking stalking. A friend went with him last season and speaks highly of him,I can pm you some details. I would imagine something in the region of around £200-£300 per day on average.
  3. Thank you all for the response so far. My intention is to train mutley for tracking the deer I've shot, and to scent/wind unshot deer. I appreciate all your feedback.
  4. Invest in some casting lessons by a qualified instructor in the area, and ask if they can supply a starter kit, maybe cheaper than through the retailers. River wise maybe a 5# rod, reel and floating line.Theres a load of flies for sale on line,fastmail,fullingmill,fish4 flies etc. Our season starts in feb for the browniesn so plenty of time to get practicing. If you need help with some flies pm me I'll tie you some foc.
  5. I'd be interestested to know if anyone uses teckels.I've used the very good serch facility at the top but Im after a pup to train to eventually for deer stalking, but as yet although I've been in touch with various breeders,I'm yet to see the different size,ie mini and standard, and I was undecisive, now Im not so sure. I really would like to know what if any difference ther are in sizes preferably wire haired for hunting. Thanks in advance. AT
  6. I know of a chap in monmothshire who has fallow stalking if you want me to pm his details. I know of another in Hereford, fallow, roe and muntjac. Other than that, north wales is very difficult to get any stalking whatsoever but there are a good number of fallow here.
  7. I looked at Phill Odgen's roe sack while at the Country Mans fair, and ordered straight away. It's a very good roe sack, from memory just under £100,ive had two roe and a fallow yearling doe, obviously not at once. and ive also had half a stag in mine, which was the equivalent of two roe roughly. The weight spreads evenly, and has a load of pockets with a removable liner for washing. Ive posted the link just because that's where i got it from. http://www.monarchcountryproducts.co.uk/index.php?route=product/product&product_id=60
