  1. foxpack and squab - nice looking pups the pair of you
  2. What a great idea. Looks stunning. Congratulations and have a great day today.
  3. All albinos only carry albino colour genes. Polecats can carry all sorts, but because the dark polecat colour is dominant that's the colour they are 'on the surface'. But because they can carry all sorts of other genes they can give birth to various different colours. The fact your jill has produced a silver shows she carries that gene, so mating her with another albino in the future might throw up one or two the same. (But your kit might still darken into a lightish poley - I've seen plenty of young kits that look silver but by the time they're 8 - 10 weeks old they're clearly not.)
  4. Good start. Onwards and upwards...
  5. Excellent idea Tomo. Think I might start adopting the same tactic.
  6. Excellent advice from talpa As he says, get your ducks in a line if you're going to court. It's always worked for me.
  7. I can confirm that the lazy b*****d ......... You've hurt my feelings now... The truth hurts lol ......
  8. I can confirm that the lazy b*****d ......... You've hurt my feelings now...
  9. As squab says, so long as what you've got suits your style of dog work and you're happy with it that's all that matters. Feck what other people think of your dog.
  10. That b&f was a good investment Gaz. Hearing of your Plummer's underground escapades makes me very relieved my bitch doesn't (touch wood...) drop below. I loathe digging with a passion
  11. Interesting point squab. I've never really stopped to think about it but can see where you're coming from. My terrier works quickly but once she finds a thickish spot that seems to be holding something I can often find myself waiting quite a while. But I don't think it's because she's slow as such, more a case of being thorough. If there's a bit of scent she'll often go through the same area repeatedly. Sometimes after 3 or 4 goes she's satisfied herself there's nothing there and then will move on. But quite often she's very reluctant to leave an area and when that happens if I just leave her
  12. It's a pain in the arse having to go through the hassle of it, but if I was in your shoes I'd use the small claims court. I've only had to do it 3 or 4 times in 20 odd years but every time I've been awarded the full amount of the claim.
  13. Are any of the longnets still available, and if so which ones and how much bagging do they have?
  14. yes i get it still have some on order now so get dogs done for the coming season do mine 3 times a year spring summer and around october had no fleas ticks on dogs for years now Where d'you get it from taz?
  15. Glad you're pleased with him - hope he does well for you. Great to see what a fantastic resource thl can be.
  16. Very true , and probably worse stuff in there , once fed a litter on raw supermarket chicken big mistake , the whole litter was bad couldn't walk dragged them selves about , That wouldn't have been because of anything nasty in the chicken, but because of a vitamin/mineral deficiency caused by just feeding meat alone. If they'd had some whole carcass as well they'd probably have been ok.
  17. Summer bushing also harder stamina wise as the temperature's so much higher. If I'm doing garden rabbiting jobs in the summer I have to make sure I stop regularly to let the busher cool down - if I didn't force her to stop she'd just keep going regardless and be in real danger of overheating.
  18. The tips of the ears always seems to be where my bitch takes some stick as well. Once they start shaking their head a few times it gets all over the place but usually looks worse than it really is. This bitch of mine is my first busher so I've got nothing to compare her to, but I would imagine that even something with a good thick coat would still rip the ear tips as the skin there's so soft and thin. What do you guys with spaniel and wirehaired types find?
  19. If I was you I'd find out from the person who gave you them what, if any, vaccinations they've had. Then armed with that info, ring your vet and ask them.
  20. Nice looking tyke - best of luck with her. I've seen a few of the Severn Valley Ratters' videos; they certainly love their ratting and have some useful looking mutts for it.
  21. That bottom pic looks like there's quite a big size difference between the plummer and Tommy's new busher. Is he as big as the whippets? I imagine with the spaniel blood in him he just barges his way into cover?
  22. Sounds like you're in for a great time - enjoy! What species d'you fish for in the Murray River?
