They do have a great selection of boots. I'm very tempted but it's a hell of an outlay if you get the sizing wrong. You said they come tight - d'you reckon you need to order one size bigger than you'd normally wear?

This was taken a few months ago when she was around 5 months old. I'll try and take some up to date pics over the w/e... She looks a little cracker in that pic fella, my one has the dark muzzle as well in fact she looks similar too yours only mine is a reddish color with a slightly thicker coat. She's getting the hang of things now but i really need too get another terrier or better still whirrier coz it's a bit too much for her on her own, not to mention all the rabbits that break cover and run straight across an open field. atb daywalker. The ones that break for open field are my fav

Whereabouts are you? Did you have to pay customs duty?
-
No - can't see her being quick enough for that tbh....

Do you think your busher being quarter whippet will be able to catch rabbits as they run from cover to cover or along the hedge. atb. I think that will depend on luck to be honest. If she's in the right place when they bolt she'd be in with a chance; she caught one a few weeks ago that bolted very close to her and ran up the hedge for the next warren up, which was about 30 yards away. She nailed it just before it got to the other warren. And she's also had a hole-hopper that bolted almost under her nose and was trying to get down a different hole about 6 foot away. I would only expec

I think a patt x whippet would make a really useful bushing/ferreting/ratting dog. My three quarter terrier, quarter whippet, who has a bit of patterdale in her, is very quick for her size and is great for ferreting hedgerows. She works in the middle of the hedge and often puts enough pressure on bolters that they leave the safety of the hedge where the lurcher has a chance at them. And she's only quarter whippet - a half cross ought to be faster still (though possibly disadvantaged in tight spaces by being a bit taller?)

Lovely looking pup mate, and great she's got her teeth into something. That'll have done her self-confidence the world of good. Burial mounds huh - hope you didn't have to do any digging

Interesting that it says "Ill-adapted to the English climate and easy prey for native predators, rabbits (or coneys, as mature rabbits were then known) had to be kept in special areas or warrens – often walled or fenced to prevent them from escaping". The implication is that unless they were keepered, rabbits couldn't survive in this country. I wonder what changed? Although I wasn't around in the pre-myxy days, from what I understand in the 1940's and 50's they thrived like weeds and were at plague proportions in many parts of the country. And even now, with myxy and VHD, they're still a major

Good stuff mate,Charger, this one is pretty decent but the older version is slightly cheaper, the i4. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=261726087351 Batts, and this seller is very sound buck, he also does 4 bay xtar charger which is the one i bought and top notch, the xtar vp4 is the one i got, he will do you a good deal if you mail him and ask about 3400mAh cells and charger. Just make sure you get one that charges 4 together. http://pages.ebay.com/link/?nav=item.view&alt=web&id=171653959327 OK lads - I emailed this seller today to ask for his

All good advice so far. I would just add that if the pup's never run on the beam before, as well as choosing the rabbit carefully I'd also choose your ground with care. Places like golf courses, sports pitches and grass grazed ultra short by sheep are notoriously difficult - the rabbits stick out like sore thumbs and, to a rookie, look like sitting ducks but in reality are anything but. Also If you can I'd suggest either flat or evenly sloped fields - something that's got lots of ups and downs is very easy for the dog to go unsighted in because as soon as the rabbit runs over a brow it'll no l

Great pictures WM. I must try taking my camera when I go ferreting as I'd love to get some actions shots of my dogs...

Rest assured they are panasonic 3400mAh protected cells mate, panasonic make the core and different companies put in the protection circuit and label them as there own, XTAR, PLUZPOWER ect ect..... They will be identicle guts to any genuine panasonic cell;) Glad it got to you safe and customs free!! The pleding with them to lower the price on the invoice obviously worked a treat!! My only advice would be to use the money saved on customs to buy a lithium charger off ebay that will take the 4 batts together, either nitecore or xtar one. Makes a big difference on run times. I dont like the

Have you looked on the DHL site bud, your only up the road from me. Where is your parcel now mate? Mine was showing as still in HK only yesterday, so based on how quickly it arrived from there I'd say there's a good chance that even you boys in the land of kilts and Irn-Bru shouldn't have to wait too long.... P.S. Forgot to say earlier - no customs payment on mine
-
Haha I'll try and get out and video a comparison with my Striker. But as I'll be doing it on my own I'm not sure how easy that'll be...
-
Mine just arrived - woo hoo! Lucky I'm not at work today so was here to answer the door to dhl. Had a quick play; initial observations - # you need to take each battery out and remove the labels at each end # the batteries say Acebeam not Panasonic - are these the ones we were expecting? I thought we were getting Panasonic? # torch looks very well made and sits nicely in the hand. Very smooth thread mechanism to open the battery compartment # easy to adjust the different brightness settings # brightest setting does look to have quite a wide spill but until tested at night can't really jud

Second all that's been said about fox digger - he's put himself out big time. Much appreciated mate. I've now signed up for notifications on dhl's website. So far all it says is shipment picked up in HK...

I feed outside - saves getting blood all over the shop
-
Mine still in Hong Kong
-
Well said Neil - couldn't agree more
-
Bulk of what I feed is rabbit, chicken and turkey. Costs nowt - rabbits caught by the dog and/or ferrets, the chooks are ex-layers I get given from a couple of local farms and I get given hundreds of turkey heads & necks just before Christmas from a local turkey farm.

I try not to give more than 20% of the overall diet as offal, and it's probably nearer 10 - 15%. I don't think you should rely on hearts as making up the bulk of his diet. Try and give him plenty of meaty bones.

3 - 4 weeks not long enough; need to give it at least 6 weeks after the op MIne went in just under 3 weeks as I was told two by the vet and another member.. I never had no problems. Interesting your vet said 2 weeks. Although it's a while since I last had a hob done I'm almost certain I was told 6. If you gave it 3 weeks and all was well that's all that matters. I think the important thing for Jax to realise is that there has to be a gap between the post-op recovery time and letting the hob get on with the job; too soon and the jills can still fall pregnant.
