Seem to be ok at the minute . Can get a little bit carried away when on scent . But like any training you have to be on top of them . Let them get away with it and there gone . That makes it sound like they're still young. How old are they?

Lovely looking dogs HPR. What's their obedience/trainability like?
  8. Great perk squab - how often can you get your hands on that lot?
  9. I've done it a few times over the years. As others have said - hard work. About 10 years ago I had to go out for a few hours and left my in season greyhound bitch in the kitchen and biggish, strong lurcher dog in the room leading to the kitchen. Kitchen door was shut but because the latch was a bit iffy I also I tied a rope from the door handle up to a water pipe running above the door and then built a barricade in front of the kitchen door out of heavy boxes. When I got home they were both in the kitchen! Dog had managed to move the boxes and smash the door just wide enough open to get in. Lu
  10. Thanks Micheala. I took about 20 variations of that shot and that's the only one that came out nicely. In all the others one or other of the dogs didn't look so good or the angle I'd shot at was wrong etc etc. One of the benefits of digital over old school 35mm!
  11. Any pics of your pack sully? D'you work them below, or only as bushers?
  12. jimmygreenwood - spend some time poking round the bushing section and maybe ask the same question in there. Lots of experienced lads there. You'll see a lot of very useful spaniel x terriers and spaniel x beagles there
  13. Good start Russ If she's keen just get her out as much as possible - the more experience she has the better she'll get.
  14. Thanks darbo and Phil - makes sense. I think I was confused as if you enlarge the photos at http://www.cj-poultrysupplies.co.uk/epages/es774067.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es774067/Products/1008 and look at the side-on view you can see that type clearly have a swing door both ends. I'll try doing mine with one swing door and one fixed door.
  15. Just occurred to me why you might need swing door both ends - if ferret wanders in and you want to fish it out without disturbing the trap. Never having used them myself I don't know how likely that is to happen. Can anyone with experience of them say?
  16. They might be rough and ready darbo but I'm sure they do the job, which is all you need I think when I try making mine I'll do some with a swing door on one end only - easier to make i would think, and unless you're doing somewhere you expect loads to bolt out of the same hole I can't really see why you'd need a swing door both ends.
  17. Looking good postie. I really fancied those pups and would almost certainly have had one if I was in the market for one at the time. But timing just wasn't right for me. Great to see updates from time to time and look forward to more in the future from you, bunnys and trigger...
  18. Bit cheaper here per unit if you don't mind having 3 http://www.cj-poultrysupplies.co.uk/epages/es774067.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/es774067/Products/1008. They look pretty straightforward to make though - think I might give it a go as I've got access to a shedload of old second hand galvanised sheeting...
  19. Wish it was mine - it's stunning! Garden belongs to a regular customer - I'm probably there every 6 weeks or so.
