funny that my mate was with me the last time i went ferreting, every time he went to spark a fag a rabbit bolted down his end. happened about five times. it made my day watching him run with bad back and knees

no need to spit the dummy out, seriously though, even if you find someone that lets you break your dog to their ferrets. It wont happen over night. people have busy lives with other things to do. so getting someone with the same free time as yourself will be more difficult (and you say you work funny hours). meaning it could take forever to break the dog. and why not just worry about it when you get your own ferrets? im sure its not impossible to break and older dog to ferrets. whats the big rush? enjoy the time with the dog lamping ect. hope ye get sorted though, but if you want somethin

how are you loading the needle? are you hanging the spool from a spindle when loading it? if not thats probably your problem. the twist will come out of it over time with use though.

spend the money on a locator, and dont expect permission to come to you, get knocking. although i think the rabbits know your there from the get go, quiet is the key to better bolting. and enjoy

had another day out today, arrived at the permission around half 9. hauled all the gear to the top of the hill we had been ferreting previously, and started to set down the nets. this time with the section we had chosen to ferret we ran short of nets but continued on anyway. again sticking to how i've been working them so far this season and using 3 ferrets at a time and keeping one in the box. so after a few minutes all hell broke loose and my friend was a busy chap, think we ended up with 14 from the first warren with 2 escapees and 2 digs but it was early days so on we moved. got to the se
