  1. No of course, I don't want to shoot huge amounts. But i would like a good return on sporting birds. Like everyone else does, i suppose. If i would to feed them at the pond, but keep them pretty wild. And try to fly them a couple of times before the season. could this be a possibility?
  2. The last couple of years I just inviteded a couple of friends for an evening flight, but i was looking for something different. That's why i was thinking to make a drive out of it. But like you said, if i could only shoot them once, at has no point putting in the hours. I normally ask 4-5 guns.
  3. Thank you Jok for your reaction! I was actually looking to make it more like a drive. I was thinking to put down 100 duck. I was wondering if the duck would fly back from the feeding site, in small groups or would they all take off in one big group. I'm really interested in how everyone else does it.
  4. I'm looking to put some duck down on a pond. I would feed them away from the pond, like mentioned. But how/when do you shoot them? Do you feed them somewhere else, and then put the guns in between the feeding place and the pond? And will they circel around the pond, or just bugger off?
  5. Thank you! And does size says anything about the chick?
  6. Hi lads, Another question: Does the colour of a pheasant egg, tells something about the colour of the chick that will hatch? Because I found a blueish egg with the rest of the eggs. Kind Regards
  7. Last time I had them just in the living room so there was much light, now i was thinking to put them in a shed so there should be less light. Or do you mean the light from the red light bulb?
  8. Thanks for all the responses! I'm particularly looking for something to keep the chicks busy in the first, second, third week. I'll have about 20-30 chicks in 2 boxes from around 3ft by 5ft each with a red lamp, drinker and some food. Last time I used "sawdust", is that any good or are there better alternatives? Could I maybe use straw or hay to keep them busy? Last time I had a lot of trouble with chicks pecking out each others intestines out. Anybody else have had a problem like that? Kind Regards
  9. Hi, Last year I had some problems and lost a lot of chicks to pecking.(especially in the first few weeks) So how do you guys keep the little chicks from pecking each other ? Is it because of a special feeder pellet or some straw? Would love some help, it's awful to see them die. Kind Regards

  15. Thanks! But i'm a bit more interested in the way you get the birds from their home pen, to the drives? If you handfeed and use a whistle i get it, but if you use hoppers are you fully dependable of the birds finding them?
  16. Hi, I was wondering how a pheasant drive works, like how do you guys get the birds to fly back to their home and how do you get the birds in place to flush them? I know you realese them in a pen, but how do you get them to the point that you want them to flush from? Regards, Belgianhunter
  17. Hi everyone, I'm going to hunt in a week or so, with some guests and I want to do a duck pond for the first drive (only wild ducks). And i have been feeding for a couple of weeks(about 3-4) and the last week daily. Now my question is: What is best way to have some birds on the pond the morning i want to go shooting? Do i keep feeding daily until said day, or do i stop a day or 2 in advance so they don't get disturbed anymore? Greetings, Belgianhunter

  22. Hi, i'm a Belgian hunter and i was wondering if it's possible to get blackneck pheasant chicks from england. Cause there aren't any about here, checked in france but they didn't know what I was talking about. I did some research and i found that blacknecks really stay in woods (my shoot is about 200ha of woodland). Or do you guys think any other strains are better? Thanks
