  1. Any of those pups not spoken for? They are a cracking litter
  2. Great experience and fun for All. You could tell Jed was made up at 'his' catch. One look at the bigger of the horses and my dog decided discretion was the better part of valour and turned her back on it, horse what horse? Good luck for next time
  3. Think I have found a compromise that suits me. Working stupid hours like lots of folk plus three kids and five dogs I do shop on the net. But I found a local delivery service for veg /fruit boxes and organic meats. They work direct with the farms and give me a choice of in season fruit and veg and enough meat for my family in one visit. Not in the habit of advertising so if you want to know who it is pm me. The taste is fantastic and the cost seems ok so far, considering how much you can pay for crappy tasteless stuff from the supermarkets who you know have ripped off the farmers in the pr
  4. Quite Partial to brindles Pup at about six months Brindle deer hound/grey 2 1/2yr and the pup Whippet cross 3 yrs My saluki cross 4yrs
  5. Lurcher Link being slightly biased as a mod is much more balanced in its view point and takes the needs of the dog and the home offered into consideration. I got my pup to work and If I could calm down her behaviour I would love to work one of my older dogs, but she is a rescue and has come unfortunately with a fair amount of baggage. Contact Kaye if you are looking for a dog for your partner/ex partner I am sure she would be extremeley pleased at the offer of an experienced home. It has to be mentioned that some sites actually ban/block lurcher link members as they think we a bunch
  6. Many of these folk are gonna be there for a while and we owe them a few luxuries and the knowledge someone is thinking about them. They are the ones who make our country great
  7. Here are the details for the convalescence hospital details of medical hospitals to follow Tony Phillips D M R C Headley Court Epsom Surry KT18 6JN THANKS FOR YOUR SUPPORT FOLKS
  8. How did it go? My lads remembrance day duties meant I couldn't make it. Hope it was a good un. Maybe not on remembrance day next year?
  9. Unlike those parcels sent over seas you can send small amounts of alcohol as well as toilettries and items that could fill the time of someone confined to bed. Puzzle books, letter writting stuff chocolates and other treats all appreciated. When the old man gets back from London this afternoon I will get him to give me the details again (legion member) so any one can participate. MM
  10. I wish I could mate but bit short on room for the experiment. They have f****d up most of the giant breed and are working through the rest. They would make a cracking working dog if they had the stamina and health they used to have.
  11. Just don't start me on what they have done to the labradors
  12. And for that we have to thank the kennel club the patron saint of breed wreckers. I think they have forgotton the purpose of most of their 'pedigree' breeds.
  13. Especially this weekend I think it would be a good time to tell folks about a service we can do for are active service men and women. While I know Molly has posted about the shoe boxes of goodies that can be sent out to our service men and women, Is any one aware of a similar service that is to help those languishing in hospital very often far from family and friends. Boxes of goodies for these folk can include a wee dram and puzzle books paper envelopes and stamps are all welcome. If you would like details of the hospitals that would appreciate these little tributes feel free to p
  14. Well deer are pretty fast... Well you couldn't have meant the BMW
  15. Nice to see yours having the chance to do what they were bred for. Looks like they caught on quick. Good time and good pics mate
  16. I know its a pain cos you are so remote but if you can't do classes take her where all the 'pet' dogs are walked. As often as you can and let her see them charging around. My D/H lurcher was terrified at 1st and I got her at 2 yrs but if they can watch other dogs interacting it does help. Also find some friendly folk she can walk along side so she learns other dogs not part of her pack are ok. Build her up and say hello to strange dogs as well in front of her cos if the pack leader thinks they are ok........... I was determined to not let my pup pick up on the D/H fears so he goes to
  17. Jeremy whine, he wouldn't know a genuine fact if it slapped him. Oh and the 'gentleman' who phoned up a lurcher owner (female owner, rescue dog) and when told the dog wasn't for sale said 'We'll see about that' What the f**k is the point of putting the frighteners on someone? Not enough lurchers to go round?
  18. Now it all makes sense Feckin brilliant
  19. Think they are looking good and fit. Saw them when they were both laid up and the difference already. Bet they are glad to be off lead again. Done a good job with em Might even give my Val a run for his money This is Val another 'rescue' identity unknown who won on saturday at Tatton Park in the lure coursing http://www.equipics.co.uk/viewpicture.tlx?...ctureid=4958549 runner up at Peterborough last year http://www.equipics.co.uk/viewpicture.tlx?...ctureid=3405044 and my deerhound x having a blast as well. http://www.equipics.co.uk/viewpicture.tlx?...ctureid=495
  20. If you think you got what it takes to offer a good home go for her. Not many will take them with a report like that on their tag, you know what is best for you and her and I know some of my rescues have been the best decision I ever made. Not many would consider her with that on her card she could be there a feck of a long time. If you think is right do it.

    Missing

They found out where he was hiding out and tried to coax him out but no luck. He hasn't been seen since monday so owners are getting seriously worried now.
  22. Where I live there are still far to many puppy farms. Be honest any is to many and what DH is doing is churning out pups to. If he bred and others like him bred responsibly the rescues wouldn't be half so full. If you have a quality sound bitch and a line of people waiting for her pups fair enough but do we really need pages of adverts from people who have decided it could make em some money? The money is crap if you rear em properly. TBH you haven't picked the best sites to pull any info off as even by many 'rescue/pet' lurcher owners they are viewed as the bunnie hugging brigade. But be
  23. I'm gonna pinch your photos and put them on your L L homeless dogs thread. As I am the mod for that section. Well done for saving him and trying to find him the right home as you admit you don't have the time for him. I appreciate you would like some of the £900 you have paid out in vets bills but the best thing for him is the right home. MM
