  1. Just saw this online and it sums up the last few years in a nutshell. I never bought it and Usyk is now rightly crowned aa the best in the division. Doesn’t mean to say there’s no value in Fury v AJ, or either rematching Usyk. I’d pay to watch.
  2. Wicked disease and a long lingering death. Wouldn’t wish it on my worst enemy. He bore it with much bravery, putting himself in the public eye when he was a shadow of what he’d once been. As said, hopefully his sacrifice, like that of big Doddie Weir, will bring about a cure sooner rather than later. RIP Rob Burrow.

Now then, I’ve been looking for something to ‘deter’ the wood pigeons that are eating all the seed out my lawn top-dressing. That might be just the ticket.
  4. I’m still a young pup at 52 but read this thread just before my mother in law came round last night.., she’s 75 and I had a wee blether to her about times gone by. She’s never caught anything more than a cold in those 75 years but she grew up in the 50’s/60’s and she’s skinned and plucked plenty of game for the pot. She grew up in a mining village where men would often drop in stuff they’d caught/shot. She told me one of the local boys had a thing for her older sister and they’d frequently wake up to find he’d left a couple of rabbits on the back step. I grew up in the 70’/80’s and it was a no
  5. Terrible scoring. f***ing crooked. Its what ruins boxing imho. 1-1 so sets up a ‘trilogy’.
  6. Decent start. 4-2 Catterall after 6 Great fight this 4-4 after 8 5-5 after 10 i scored it a draw but a few rounds difficult to split them. Fantastic fight though. Hope some of you watched it lol.
  7. I don’t disagree he’d still be the one to beat, but I reckon if he started out today he wouldn’t have anything like the trophy haul he has, and I doubt anyone will ever match that. Taylor was consistently brilliant with unbelievable stats but I think the difference is that he was so much better than his contemporaries that he could get away with a poor game or two.., the general standard now is such that he’d not get that breathing space. I hope Littler keeps his feet on the ground, and I really hope there’s a few more like him in the pipeline. Darts will be in good fettle for another 3
  8. I don’t get why, when farmers etc. have irrefutable evidence that big cats exist in the UK, that none are ‘willing to go public’ with the evidence. It just all sounds like smoke and mirrors and nose tapping ‘I know something you don’t know, but I can’t tell you about it’. In a world where just about everyone under forty plasters almost every aspect of their lives on social media, why are people so shy about showing the world they filmed a puma in Paignton or a leopard in Leeds? Makes no sense to me.
  9. Taylor dominated darts for the best part of two decades, and set the bar for those coming behind him. But I reckon even a prime Taylor wouldn’t stick out in the crop playing at the top of the game now. There’s about half a dozen players now who’s A-game is as good as Taylors. And I think Littler could be the best ever. Now a Premier League winner at a few months past his 17th birthday, throwing a 9-darter in the final for good measure. I’ll guarantee his arrival has made a few players up their practice regime, and maybe make a few of the older ones question whether its time to bow out graceful
  10. Looking forward to Taylor v Catterall rematch on Saturday. Pity it took so long to make, but both good boxers and plenty needle might make for a decent fight. Bookies have Catterall favourite, but I think if Taylor can tweak a few things from the first fight he can win without controversy this time.
  11. Stopped in 2000 after smoking for maybe 13 year. My missus did the same. Between us then we’d have been on about 40 a day - Regal filters. If I had to go out today and buy all the fags we’d have smoked since giving up it’d cost me just shy of £300,000. When you look at it like that I can’t understand why anyone would smoke. I stopped a few years before vapes took off, and I’m really glad I did. I reckon it’s harder to get off them than the baccy.

As is often the case, hunters usually provide very good insight into the how various species are fairing. Be it the salmon fisherman, the pest controller or the humble ferreter, they’re usually the first to know there’s a problem…, and often the first or even only ones sounding the alarm. Agree with Greyman that the long and very wet spring must have had an impact on a few critters. It’ll right itself again next year though no doubt. Hope you’re wide of the mark with the wasps. I hate the little sh!ts!
  13. I agree we’ll be lucky to see it this year. What’s also getting less and less likely is Fury v Joshua.., and if it doesn’t happen, a big part of the legacy of both men will be the fight they never had, as much as the ones they did.
  14. Warren says Fury wants the rematch and it’s set for October. I’ll believe it when I see it.
  15. By the spring, and especially with the months of rain we had this year, my lawn is more moss than anything else. Most of the moss killers that make it turn black are iron sulphate which apparently kills the leaves but not the roots. This year I tried this stuff called Mo bacter. Supposed to kill the roots then act to feed the grass. It takes a few weeks to work and you might need to keep watering it in, but it seems to have worked on mine.

Haven’t seen the full film for a few years now, it’d be good to see it on the big screen. I remember the first time I watched it as maybe 10 year old. At the time I was obsessed with Kestrels, as barring a very occasional sparrowhawk, they were about the only raptor I ever saw. I still feel the same way watching kestrels now as I did then, so much scarcer now though.
  17. It was definitely a close fight. The judges unanimously agreed that Usyk won rounds 1, 8, 9 and 10, and Fury won rounds 5, 6, 7 and 12. The other 4 rounds were scored 2/1 in favour of Fury (rounds 2 & 4) and Usyk (rounds 3 & 11). I scored it 7 to 5 in favour of Usyk but could see how a few rounds could be scored either way depending on what (who) you like. What clinches it for me is that Usyk came forward for the vast majority of the fight.., which I’ll always favour, and the knock down which might have been a stoppage, and ‘without a bell’ would have been the end of the fight. Would
  18. I still find myself singing this to myself from time to time
  19. I’d like to see it again but I thought the ref might have stopped the fight before he called the knock down. There was nothing coming back from Fury at that point.
  20. Only Fury fan boys saw that. The rest of the boxing world had Usyk a clear winner.
  21. Who cares. Load of shite. Get the fighters in the ring and get on with it. Edited to add, this is fcuking ridiculous. How many songs is this cnut doing!!!
  22. Changed my mind on this a few times but I’ve now got a feeling Usyk might stop Fury in the second half of the fight after knocking him over a couple of times. Think if Usyk can keep a high tempo to his work he’ll tire Fury and maybe draw a mistake later in the fight.
  23. So it turns out he weighed in at 223lbs and not 233! The minute people thought Usyk had come in very heavy they were making all sorts of predictions, punters would be laying bets and odds would be changing. What a fcuk up!
  24. Never took his jeans off. I reckon he had rocks in his pocket. Bookies rightly favouring Fury in my opinion. His size advantage almost makes this a mismatch on paper. Usyk though smaller is by far the best boxer Fury’s ever faced, so interesting to see how he copes. Hopefully it’ll gel and we’ll get a classic. I’m even going to pay for it without complaining lol.
