When it comes to the great Messi v Ronaldo debate, I’m picking Messi every time. But it has to be said CR7 is an absolute phenomenon. Playing his 220th international game at 40 years of age tonight, and to be doing so when strength and fitness within the game is at the cutting edge of science. Deserves his place in the conversation amongst the select few who can be considered the best to ever play the game.

So true. I went through my fly boxes a few months ago and finally threw out a load of stuff I’d had in there for maybe 20 or 30 years. I had all manner of weird and wonderful rubbish which, if it was a choice of tying it on or packing up and going home.., I’d be going home.

Great video that. I’d like one day to put a couple of cameras on a deer carcass high on a hill in the highlands, and maybe catch an eagle on it. Came close a few years ago when I was putting the odd camera out, when I came across an animal but it was picked nearly clean. There were a couple of kites flying around it but the hike in to it was so brutal through bog and thigh high heather that I decided against leaving a camera.

Hope he’s okay. Been through a lot recently by the sound of it. His input on here is always good value, and hopefully he’ll be back on soon to tell us all about a new dog he’s taken on to keep him occupied.

08.00 Day off today and so jumped on here to catch up and noticed the usual suspects bickering hasn’t kicked off yet. Maybe they’re all still in bed, whilst the rest of THL get stuck into a bit of graft to keep the nation’s neck above the water? Anyway, as a younger man like most I burned the candle at both ends, and barely felt effect. Nowadays I’m up between 4 & 5 and in work before 7 after a 40 minute commute. I wish I could reset my body clock to rise and retire later but I’ve tried a few times to no avail. Not a problem now whilst I work but not sure what the fcuk I’ll do with me

Not much help I know, but my missus was there last year with her sister. She used the city e-scooters to get about. Says they were easy to use/hire and they were able to cover a lot of ground and see everything they wanted over a couple of days.

Verstappen is a petulant child. His team made two blunders with the pit-stop and advising he yield to Russell before the stewards had ruled. But his decision to deliberately ram Russell should have seen him disqualified. Some will say his uncompromising driving makes him a winner.., but to me there’s sporting integrity, and then there’s cheating. Sometimes there’s no glory in winning at any cost.

Maybe they’ll reduce the licence fee now that they’ve got his £1.5m salary off the wage bill? Wish he’d taken that clown Micah Richards with him too. Regards his political views, and whether he should be allowed to voice them as an employee of an ‘impartial’ public funded broadcaster, I think there’s an element that comes with the job and territory and you’ll always be called out by those who disagree, and not by those that agree with your position.., so exercising restraint is probably the best way to go. Watching the F1 on my phone but with the women’s Scottish (FA) cup final on tele.., Glasgow City v Rangers in a near empty Hampden Park. Not exaggerating, if the Rangers mens team played the women they’d beat them at least 30-0. The gulf between the two sexes is gargantuan. I don’t think any amount of investment or subsidising will ever bring the women’s game anywhere close to the men’s game. Bless them for trying though.

I hadn’t seen or heard of that. I could even excuse that sort of talk if they’d just come out a riot situation.., where they’d been in actual danger and the adrenaline was pumping, but feeling anything but sorrow and regret after thinking you’d had no option but to deploy that to get control of a one legged 90+ year old man is the behaviour of a fcukin cowardly thug. I hope they throw the book at him.

Man U were mad to let Mctominay go. And Gilmour is 23 but couldn’t break into the Chelsea team at 20? He’d do a job in the EPL.., both would easy. And before you write off Italian football and Scottish midfielders, Napoli just saw off Champions league finalists Inter to win Serie A. EPL champs Liverpool didn’t get past the last 16.

Have a sister in law and a couple of cousins who’ve done it. Sure they paid about £500 each mutt. I told them that there’ll never be a shortage of Romanian ‘rescue’ dogs whilst nutters are paying for them. Foreign puppy farms is all your creating.
