  1. Wouldn’t grumble if Littler got it. That GOAT debate will likely not be decided in my lifetime, and probably never will as it’s so subjective.., and any sportsman can only beat what’s in front of him. I don’t ever see a domination of darts in the same way Taylor did as I think the standard across the piece is greater and deeper than say it was in the 90’s.
  2. I know it’s all woke garbage now, and it’ll no doubt be won by someone I’ve never heard of but here are the (3 female and 3 male obviously) nominees.., Hannah Hampton, Chloe Kelly, Ellie Kildunne, Luke Littler, Rory McIlroy and Lando Norris. Luke Littler’s achievements for one so young have been nothing short of incredible. World champion and No.1 ranked at only 18 years old! McIlroy finally winning the Masters to complete the slam, and the Ryder Cup away win means he’s had one of the best two years of his entire career. Norris came through in the end to overhaul his team mate a
  3. When you get some random tune stuck in your head for no apparent reason. This morning it’s the theme from Terry and fcuking June! Why???
  4. Or have a conversation that seems to be for the benefit of strangers round about.., as much as the people having it. My missus does it occasionally.., drives me up the wall.
  5. Some pish, some truth. Anyway, things have changed. https://x.com/oneoutof4/status/1997729693416755579?s=46&t=VY4brBw2Zl3y1kklDlkEFg
  6. Graduated to a BMX after my Grifter. Cheap one for Christmas from Marshall Ward catalogue if I remember…, and not like the more expensive burners or mongooses some of the other kids had. I remember the following year scraping money together to strip it down and going to buy all new parts for it. CW bars with mushroom grips, mx 2 finger brake levers with new cables and calipers, new saddle with a lay back post, white skyway wheels, beartrap pedals (still have the scars on my shins) foot pegs front and back and new black/silver chequered pads. It looked the absolute fcuking business (at least t
  7. Go on very few work’s do’s now. I can’t be bothered getting absolutely shit-faced any more, and they’re generally intolerable things to attend unless you are. Been to some monumental ones in the past but will leave it to the young team now.
  8. 24th and back on the 5th. I like the wee break but that’s plenty. Started working late 80’s so only ever really known stat holidays for Christmas and New Year. A few older guys I’ve worked with have said it wasn’t always like that. They worked in factories on Christmas day for example…, and that Hogmanay/New Year was the big thing in Scotland, not Christmas. Rig workers would work rotas so the English lads would be home at Christmas and the Scots at home for the new year.
  9. Born ‘72 so limited memories of the 70’s, but a really early memory is my old fella had this ancient works van with a crank handle. He was chuffed to bits when they gave him a green Morris van. My transport, apart from the hand built go-karts or ‘bogeys’ as we called them, I had the obligatory Raleigh bikes. First was a Boxer, then my brother’s old Commando (which got nicked) and lastly a Grifter. Last two had the three-speed gear hub, notorious for slipping in 2nd. Lost count of how many times the pedals would spin from under me as the little yellow flag on the twist grip told me I’d gone
  10. Kept the group with Brazil open during pot 3 draw until Scotland came up.., what a fcuking shock! Actually not the worst draw for either Scotland or England.
  11. Hell of a way to go. Probably since 9/11 the first thing I do if I stay at a high rise hotel/apartment block is find out where the fire exit is in case I have to get to it through a smoke filled corridor.
  12. People who act like an absolute arsehole first thing in the morning and say it’s because they haven’t had their coffee yet. It’s not an excuse and it doesn’t make it alright. Arseholes.
  13. Have a bit of a fascination for industrial buildings and in particular a lot of the old brick built buildings that I guess were built by the MoD around the time of WW2. Always wonder about the sights, sounds and smells of these old places back in their day, and all the people and characters that went through them. In the years since the war many of these MoD/military facilities would have been sold off and the buildings turned over to small businesses etc. Some near me have been demolished and replaced with new factories and business units. Can’t help thinking that’s a pity.
  14. Is that an ex-goose? You’re in North America right? Have you seen much in the way of bird flu. I was on the Norfolk Broads a month or so ago, seen a few dead or dying swans, and the numbers of greylags and swans around Wroxham looked to be completely decimated compared to other times I’ve visited. Shame.
  15. Crows are an absolute fascination. We had a few fledglings kicking around a few months back, my missus was feeding them out the kitchen window. She’d whistle and they’d appear. Was getting ridiculous as whenever someone was in the kitchen they’d come and make a racket expecting a feed. Had another one peck the top of the cover over the rotary drier. Bought a new one and the bugger has nearly destroyed that one too. Christ knows why it does it.
  16. Good video that. Reckon animals are often a lot smarter than we give them credit for. My guess is a wolf watched the trap being set and went to investigate once it was unattended. A lot of critters will associate humans with food opportunities. A wolf might also be able to smell a fishy bait, even if it was underwater.
  17. Member of two of my all time favourite bands. RIP legend.
  18. AI videos in general, but seen loads of cats chasing off bears, tigers etc. Why? What is the fcuking point?
  19. John Fury and the seemingly endless back and forth slagging matches with a couple of old sted heads. Grown men ffs.., cringeworthy doesn’t even begin.
  20. See y’all in North America next year
  21. Joshua to fight Jake Paul in December.., after which I’d expect him to retire as he’s clearly given up on fighting for a world title. I’d say “why” but I suppose that, even if you’re already worth a couple of mill, if someone’s going to offer you another £50m to fight someone you should be able to beat in your sleep, well then it’s a no brained. Would love to see Joshua knock him out cold inside a minute and give a fright and a reality check to the sport and to the arseholes serving this shite up as boxing.
  22. Reckon I’d do it for £250k tax free.

And that was for a relatively overt bias. The BBC and all MSM is guilty of a more subtle bias against Trump…, like he’s some unhinged racist & sexist despot and whilst they demonise him it’s almost overlooked the fact that he’s the democratically elected POTUS.
  24. I knew a simple soldier boy Who grinned at life in empty joy, Slept soundly through the lonesome dark, And whistled early with the lark. In winter trenches, cowed and glum, With crumps and lice and lack of rum, He put a bullet through his brain. No one spoke of him again. You smug-faced crowds with kindling eye Who cheer when soldier lads march by, Sneak home and pray you'll never know The hell where youth and laughter go
  25. Won’t name the individual but I used to regularly see a member of the aristocracy in a supermarket close to where I was working, the chap was well on in years by now, cutting about in a very old land rover, smoke belching out the back…, he’d be wearing filthy jeans and an old parka and would make the average tramp look well turned out. Not sure his (families) net worth but it’d be in the hundreds of millions. Heard his son recently sold a single (JW Turner) painting from their collection for > £30million. What’s that saying about books and their covers. For a lot these days, and particula
