  1. It looks like you’re just nit-picking and trying to save face now. I really think you should just swallow your pride, do the right thing, and apologise……
  2. IMO, good to have it out there. I use ‘mole poison’ as one of the google keywords to bring people to my website; and let me tell you, plenty of people still search for it truly believing they can buy poison for moles – they can’t (or at least they shouldn't be able to). And, just to clarify; I’m not a lawyer, so I’m not 100% on the legal hair-splitting involved in the EU rulings. That’s why I said “I'm willing to admit I might be wrong”. As for using strychnine – you can’t. As for an irrational hatred of people you’ve never met – very much your own problem.
  3. never really thought about it like that; but yes, I see your point. But you know what I mean: Poison = stuff you eat or drink
  4. Look; It’s illegal to poison an animal using a poison not currently approved for use in poisoning that animal. There are no poisons currently approved for use on moles in the UK - Hate me or not; there’s your fact.
  5. As I understand it, and I'm willing to admit I might be wrong, It became illegal to keep strychnine anywhere in the EU from 2006 (so presumably that also means use it). As to the earlier withdrawing from sale; that's before my time i'm afraid - more Matt's department. One thing I do know; I don't want to lose work to people buying 'mole poison' on the internet.
  6. Lads, I hate to come across as the boring playing-by-the-rules type, but, in the UK, poisoning moles is blatantly illegal. Strychnine has been out of use for almost a decade – to my knowledge Bromethalin, the Active Ingredient in these worms has never been approved. Anyone claiming to be a professional pest controller should really already know that. Let’s just hope some prick doesn’t follow that link and order a load
  7. Where I work the live moles are just as likely to eat the dead ones
  8. Are the Putanges something you would be interested in making Steve?
  9. I’d say my time is rarely wasted just standing looking at mole hills on the other side of a valley (whether I've got a job there or not) , just trying to work out what’s going on. Can’t speak for anyone else, but I’m sure I soon start seeing patterns and get an idea what the moles are up to. I’m even considering getting one of those drone things, so I can take an aerial photo of a site before I start work.
  10. I've been waiting almost two weeks to have my Flat Pack order delivered. Please don't do anything to distract them!
  11. I know It’s not my question to answer, but if you don’t mind me trying the traps part; horses for courses I recon mate. I did a domestic last week: chose the three different traps you mentioned that I thought looked right for the runs I found; went back midmorning today and - nice little ego boost - I’d got it spot on for once. I’m sure on someone else’s turf I mightn’t have caught even one – or I would have spent too long choosing traps to make any money. But, like I said; for me, it’s horses for courses.
  12. Bad luck Mate. But my hat's off to you for trying. Keep the one I sent you; I've still got a couple of hundred of them.
  13. Is this the kiddy: Called a sure grip. looks a bit Chinesey to my untrained eyes.
  14. Are you talking about the fenn mole trap? no they were..to look at a talpex trap but without the trigger we know insted they had the ring type trigger of a normal scissor trap...the trigger sat between the cross bars and they had not setting pin. 100% not the fenn Solway sell the traps exactly as you are describing mate; but they are the fenns http://www.solwayfeeders.com/products/fenn-scissor-mole-trap-p1904-c424.html noooooo 100% NOT the fenn i have a dozen fenn sat in my shed right now......and they are not the fenn lol Ok, so now you've dropped a subtle h

  16. Had a look at the ratbait site; marginally more expensive than KG - but cheaper if you use the free delivery deals. Their half barrel traps look very reasonable; but I'm guessing there's a good reason for that - anyone tried them?
  17. Just got a copy. Hard back = 1p + shipping - can't go wrong there
  18. I love reading, and can't deny I've learnt alot from books BUT....... There is nothing as good as getting out and about and trying out theories and techniques for yourself You'll learn as you go along and make mistakes and that knowledge will stay with you much longer than the stuff you read in books No doubt your right about that 99% of the time Mat; but unless I'm lucky enough to see the creature digging the hole, I'll never know what creature dug the hole - you can see where I'm going with this. And besides, I just like books. Thanks TC, by the way.
  19. Fieldcraft for rural pest control is something I’d like to swot up on; if anyone can recommend me a book on that. Actually I’m not 100% sure ‘fieldcraft’ is quite the right word; I don’t mean it in the military/dressing as a sniper sense. More the: What animal dug that hole, or made that run under the fence, or left that footprint – the sort of thing old country folk know about. Any recommendations appreciated, thanks.
  20. Might go. I went two years ago; I think it’s fair to say it’s aimed at the larger or more urban company: Good in that you don’t get many of the camo-clad village idiots there, but bad in that some of the reps I spoke to were showing products not even licenced in the UK.
  21. Truce it is then: I’ve got no desire to be spanked by a man wearing a moderators’ hat – even I’m not that f****d up. And besides; unlike some people on here, I’ve got to spend my time running a pest control business that Actually Exists!
  22. Ha Ha. I don’t know how you know I’m from Sussex, but, No Mate. Idiots make comments like: “Cant trap due to 2 cats living here fed by the farmer (not feral) so traps are a no no.” Not only implying you catch cats in rat traps, but also implying that it would be ok if they were feral cats!!! Jesus Christ Man! If a do-gooding anti was reading this forum they would have a big wank after seeing that!
  23. It's a Mole Cricket monkey. Apparently protected under Schedule 5 of the Wildlife and Countryside Act. So if you catch one over here ffs don't use it to catch fish
