  1. A friend of mine sold a hw35 with a cheap scope on it for 235 last week, and is asking the same for the other one he has
  2. Its on top on the s410 and on the ultra se iv mounted it under the silencer, not much use if your lying down but I dont go prone to shoot very often, dont have many fields that are manicured enough to use the bipod so doesn't matter to me, well the wife its "her gun" of coarse
  3. Nigel at our club bought aa fields in bulk as 90% of us use them worked out 7£ a tin so not too bad
  4. Is it fuel injected? We have a grizzly 700 and the fi unit needed fettling,
  5. They won't be ready for this season I dont think without an older ferret for guidance
  6. Have you drilled a hole in your case
  7. Maybe slightly more pigeons in the winter, but only if I have time to spend a day in the woods\field, the squirrels tend to get an easier time in the depth of winter in my woods, but only because I dont want to irradicate them completely, the damage has been done so 'managing stock' so to speak so there is a good few left for next spring\summer, I shoot rabbits 90% of the time in the dark anyway so shorter days aren't really too much of a problem for me, the most annoying thing is only having 2 hours after work before dark instead of 4 or 5 buggers the lovely evening beach fishing up too lol
  8. Good stuff mate, nothing worse than selective Ferreter's, in for a penny in for a pound I say, its only pain itl go away
  9. Cue tumble weed on this one, I'd never heard of them,a quick Google search the blizzard looks very accurate on a YouTube video but the windy city is one ugly rifle
  10. I always thought long barrels were more accurate........until I added an ultra se to the collection, turns out I was wrong
  11. You can sometimes get your knife under it and remove the worst of it but not always, its no problem tho if when you brown the meat before cooking brown it slowly I find oil and water so it sort of bubble Fry's, and if slow cooked after its more tender than chicken,
  12. As an update our 4 yr old lad accompanied us on an afternoon \evening mooch around one of the rabbit heavy perms, I shot 3 whilst he looked on and laughed at a stroppy mum who still had a full mag after a couple hours, he wanted a go on the rifle so layed him prone and explained what to do etc, whether he could see through the scope or not I'm not too sure but the hedge was a good target to not miss, but the best bit.... Both kids were eating our rabbit curry that's been in the slow cooker all day and loving it, very happy with that
  13. Hi all, how old were your kids or you when you started shooting? My little lad is 4 he's always asking if we can go shoot some pigeons and is showing interest in hunting in general, loves fishing too, what would be seen as appropriate to teach him to use a rifle? I can't remember what age I was when I first used a gun, but now the little ultra is in the equation can't help but think that'd be a good one to do some can shooting for him
  14. My mrs was nailing the 45 and 55 yard knockdowns at the range 8\10 times, not against trying something else but these are working very well, anyone got a handful of any of the recommended pellets I could try please?
  15. Correct, using aa field 8.4 I loves them
  16. I can't see the difference wind makes to a springer that it doesn't to a PCP? The effect is the same.... No?
  17. .177 both guns are, Apart from the spring load mag its a straight forward "pull back and let go" system....not the silly button on the front and pellet probe on the back, what makes it so bad I'm confused?
  18. Well we have been out in the wood on one of my perms that's on a steep slope to get out of this bloody wind, the mag took some getting used to and was jamming a lot, the technique to stop this was to cock the rifle pointing it at the floor, I saw si pitaways tip of rocking it each pellet that helped but didn't cure it, the accuracy .... Not great, until we got 100 odd pellets in, filled to 180 bar shooting down to about 110 it was bloody deadly, personally I think my 410 is better and although there wasn't much in the group sizes the 410 were tighter at our 40 yard target point, maybe its becau
  19. And can someone please enlighten me on posting pics please
  20. Good morning, of to pick up a new ultra in a min :-) :-) for the "wife" of coarse, just a tad happy on this Saturday morning
  21. Where in the country are you?
  22. And to clarify with rez, a few mil is the difference between hit n miss and more importantly clean and humane :-)
  23. I think its more a case of scope quality, my BSA scope is zero on 6x but if I wind it up to say 9x poi zero is different, its a cheapish one, however the sr6 is bob on at whatever mag.....
