  1. Cheers, they have had a few this season but I've only managed to go twice, this was the second time, and we bagged less this time but it's a good day out and we have a laugh, we get a good mix of quarry so makes it interesting as we get all sorts popping up,now we may have somewhere to hunt as well so looking like a good year ahead...
  2. Got out today to beat on a rough shoot and had a good day of it,started slow but got better after some lunch when we got to driving the places we'd pushed the birds towards on the first few,saw some nice wildlife, hare and jay amongst other stuff, and nice countryside, ended the day with good bag of pheasant, partridge, pigeon and a woodcock, the landowner wants us to get rid of the rabbit on his and hopefully his neighbours land with the ferrets and air rifle so could have landed a nice new permission!!...
  3. I was over there on the 11th getting a leak on mine fixed,I believe they are open as usual and have cylinders in stock almost all the time,I saw the system while there of having the stock topped up to ten at the start of a week and on test until they sell, they have lifetime warranty whoever owns them,I bought mine used and got top rate service, give them a call they are more than helpful...
  4. Ask eleven men get eleven opinions! Why not handle a few and see which you like the feel of,you might find something unexpected??
  5. I'd like my wife to go just one time to share in what I enjoy but it ain't ever going to happen!
  6. Good day out then, looks a lively permission, and options in the kitchen now with that mixed bag...
  7. being handled should be a pleasant experience for the ferret,if you start disciplining by hurting it I think it would set you back, you don't want it associating your hand with pain,I never wear gloves so they can see and smell my hands and get used to them, and move slowly and from in front of it so you don't spook it,when you have a comfortable hold offer the back of your hand it won't be able to bite there properly...
  8. That century edition that new one out? Seen a new R10 about and can't for the life of me think what it's called. Nice brood my man. Is it the r10 elite? With the laminate stock and hugget shroud and moderator,I think that's the newest?
  9. Nice gang you've got there,no doubt each is a pleasure to use, makes me think I could do with a new rifle or four!!
  10. I think the satisfaction comes from them being so hard to hunt, they seem to hear and see everything and take off at the slightest hint of anything suspicious so when you get to within air rifle range and get your cross hairs on one you've usually done pretty well and feel a bit chuffed with yourself...
  11. I read this before I checked out the link and it made me chuckle for quite a while!
  12. I thought that as well, when someone mentions a new gun or a session out something in me wants to see a pic or two!
  13. That's a fair reward for a couple of hours and you did bash one magpie!
  14. It's nice just to be out sometimes, even in the cold and you had one victim in the bag so was worth the walk I'd say...
  15. It's not always about the number's,like you say sometimes it's nice to get out and get a few for the pot!
  16. Enjoyed that,I like the idea of seeing what's going on underground as well as waiting for the bolt above, agree with perhaps editing some slower parts but all round a good video...
  17. These are the ways I've heard and would try,I know someone who used a length of wire and now his uncle owns the rifle and says it won't group well,so the barrel could be scored...
  18. Not bad for what I presume was a fairly short outing, and a bad photo is better than no photo!
  19. Those rapids are appealing, most of us that haven't owned one probably look at them and think "I'd like one those one day", I know I do,never hear anything but good stuff about them so you should enjoy yours...
  20. Looking forward to hearing how you get on with nv,being a torch man myself, been considering one myself but I want so many expensive toys I have to choose one at a time so could be a while before I get my hands on one!
  21. Thought I'd let you know I've been up to a and m this afternoon and had my leak sorted, with uprated parts!,whilst one of the lads busied himself doing this I had a chat and look round and was very happy with the service I received from a very friendly and knowledgeable group of people, and they replaced my filling probe o rings and filled my tank as well!,so overall a very good company to deal with and after my albeit brief dealing with them I highly recommend them and see why they have such a good reputation...
  22. On a wooden stock you drill into the butt for the rear stud and clamp the front stud onto the under lever, from the pictures I've seen the synthetic seems to be done the same but I don't own one or have never seen it done so I may be wrong...
  23. Better to be out ferreting in strong wind (that seems to stop them bolting?) Than in home doing pretty much nothing,I'm becoming a bit of an armchair hunter! Better get out and catch something soon!
