  1. Why not knit one? Sorry, couldn't help myself...
  2. Looks a good session and a few to carry home to show for it,is there much other stuff to go after if you want to write about something other than rabbit? (Nothing wrong with your write ups by the way just asking as you joked about it!)
  3. Good bag for a couple of hours and I like the leaving of the ones just too small to eat, they'll do for next time! It's a good time when the grass is down as they come out to feed in it and you get a good look at which one to go for,ie the biggest!
  4. Now it all starts again then! There's some good stuff to choose from...
  5. My first thought when seeing the question "would I regret it" was yes you probably would,if you are doubtful enough to need to ask on a forum then I think you haven't decided one way or the other, otherwise you would know? I think before you chop and change calibre you need to use a .22 for a few trips in a few situations to help decide,or you could end up regretting it and be stuck with a gun you don't like the thought of going out hunting with, could you buy another gun and if you like it keep it or sell the other? Or borrow one? The capabilities of both are well known and both calibres have t
  6. I thought your hw100 had a faulty bigmac and should have been looking at exchanging that but sounds like it got it sorted now!!
  7. Managed to get out on the corvids again this weekend,as I did last week, got there for the evening to take them as they fly between the barns and the roost, set up our hide and waited, wasn't long before they started coming over and we got a few shots off and some in the bag,the weather broke and we had a brief thunder storm and some rain on and off which put them off and then it all slowed down so we decided to wrap up,ended on six crow and a pigeon so wasn't an overly productive session but we try! We missed quite a few each so should have been closer to twenty but hey ho!
  8. Looks as though you've got to know your ranges fairly well! Good haul there...
  9. Not a bad place to be tucked up in the bushes, nice bag and folding money to walk away with can't be bad, like the last pic,nice...
  10. Fair result for a wander round, maybe get more when the grass is down and you can get more stable position to shoot from?
  11. Nice to be out and get something...
  12. Good to see you've got on with it and sounds as if its performing as well as is expected of rifles of this quality, get it out and have a session on the rabbit and let's hear how you got on with it then, with pics is preferred but now we know why if we don't get any!!
  13. Good result for an hour out, keep the ferrets fed for a while, those s10's are good little guns...
  14. I use scaffold scrim netting on the mesh to keep flies out and feed later on in the day as it cools down, get remaining out in the morning when im scooping the scat out,and check the bed as they do hide it! I mean that's how I deal with the fly problems if that's what the thread is for?? If its the cost of feeding I feed them what I shoot or ferret,or liver, egg, chicken cuts etc when I have no freezer feed!
  15. Never mind pics of it on your dining table get it out and show us a pic of a hw100 next to a rabbit taken clean at 45 yards!!
  16. Think this one is about covered and your concerns should be quashed, get the things you need in order and bag some rabbit, could provide a good freezer full in the short term then a steady supply of meals from then on? Good luck with it and let's have some write ups on it...
  17. Good write up enjoyed reading that and always nice to see pics, looks like you've got a fair bit to go at and numbers to make each trip worthwhile...
  18. They are popular for a reason,good gun,enjoy...
  19. Good going, should keep you busy
  20. Not sure on calibre,I'm a .22 man but that's all I can say on it! And as for engraving I would think a jeweller would be a good starting point, local gunsmiths must also be worth an ask... Well done on 25 years both!!
  21. That's a great pic and a great nest, once found a pigeon nest in an upside down hardhat on site, can't find the pic of it but made me smile...
  22. A mate of mine has them over the back door as well,in his lean to,come back every year for a few years now,its great to see them
  23. Another one for putting a piece of wood over the top with an air gap and frozen bottles in the hutch, seems to keep it cool enough...
  24. These things should be sorted before they reach the shops,if problems arise they should be sorted pretty quickly but unfortunately this is the way it is sometimes, hopefully the company is doing something notable to put this behind it,Simon I think you've started a day state bashing thread!! Does anyone think daystate would benefit from a springer on its list?
