  1. Good thread, good read and I think we all have a very similar childhood,ah good times that won't be had by my children in today's society I think,unfortunately...
  2. Could of been worth the wait then,go get yourself a couple and if they get poached or whatever and they dwindle then its a bit crappy but you've tried,if they remain or increase its a nice little spot to fill a pot every now and then...
  3. Least the walk out produced an opportunity and you'll laugh about it one day!
  4. Some good tips for Maggie's there from lads who know there stuff,my thought on getting a few more birds in and a few shots off could be sitting somewhere a bit more concealed than the family hatchback!!
  5. Shoot, was typing while you replied and I've had a couple by the way!
  6. Must admit I thought "why" as well Mac,you have or have had a few rifles over the last few months and always seem to flutter off to the next one on a whim, have you not found one that seems right or do you just like trying new ones? I mean if the rifle itself does it for you would a few adjustments to the stock not be better than swapping the whole thing? I know its up to you and feel free to tell me to mind my own but thought I'd ask, maybe you have a problem and need help,we could have a thl intervention!!
  7. Fair offer, someone will be grateful to get their hands on,or rather in,them!
  8. I agree on the benefits of pcp's in the multi shot, less disturbance in reloading, and virtual silence of the action, really does instill confidence in a session, and also agree that a springer is equal for all else, well put answer and as I say I agree, also the tx200 is a good rifle and hard to beat...
  9. Nice, must be pleased to see it done and ready to use after a couple of years, looks worth the effort and time.
  10. Fair result for a mooch, are you using it as much as the PCP,do you find it equal? If you know what I mean without a sort of which is better debate,I just ask because you've made your feelings on the 100 and calibre very clear so would like to near your thoughts on it...
  11. Whatever calibre, some good shots at decent range, earned those rabbits!
  12. Getting some good numbers with that 100 whatever stock it sits in!! Nice, must be a pleasure to shoot that perm at the min...
  13. Nice to bag a brace, gives another option when cooking them up...
  14. The 100 club is claiming it's share, well done, some eating your getting there...
  15. Good to see the young ones showing an interest, even if they grow up just understanding how and why it's a great thing,no harm in seeing every step of the process of meat production, even better if they carry on and want to take part, get one cooked and let her enjoy the fruit of her labour!!
  16. I'm new to making these things so don't know too much yet but have wanted sloe gin for a while but never attempted it,I've got my eye on simple wines as well but as said why rush? I'll just give it a bit longer and get some on the go then, thanks for the advice all
  17. Hey jok,I have found a good spot with a decent amount on it but they aren't ripe yet and was hoping to have some ready asap! Looks like I'll just have to wait,I suppose a few weeks won't matter...
  18. Everyone defo has their own ways I've just found out someone I know has had some steeping for about a month using this years berries? I've got to find out though, think if I make some I'll label the bottle clearly so I can try it again or avoid it depending on how it turns out, just to sort of clarify,no one is saying don't,just not how you'd advise??
  19. Hi all I'm looking at making my first sloe gin,I've heard a few different ways and methods but am looking to those who actually know, from experience, would it matter if I picked them now and froze them for a day or two,in the end product I mean would it be noticeable? Or do I really need to wait another month or so? Thanks...
